About the author

Anil Aggrawal M.D. (Hindi: अनिल अग्रवाल) (born August 17, 1956) is a professor of forensic medicine at the Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India.[1][2] He is known chiefly as the Editor-in-Chief of the Internet Journal of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology.

Dr. Aggrawal went to Edinburgh Medical School for higher training in 1989 and spent a year there. In 1996, he was awarded a WHO fellowship, under which he taught at Shiga University of Medical Sciences, Japan and Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Washington, US

Phew, finally finished this! I’ve been busy guys 😮‍💨

First of all, I gotta mention that this is a textbook, so it’s scientific information, behavioral analysis, psychological background, legal boundaries. Loads of very interesting and educational stuff! As long as this specific topic is something you’re interested in, you’re gonna love this book!

Either you’re a student or just morbidly curious, or maybe you’re actually a little bit too into this subject, I recommend this very much.

I’d give it 5/5 but some parts were slightly repetitive.

this reference book has been invaluable in my studies of criminal paraphilia. genuinely cannot recommend it enough to those in the forensic psych field, assuming paraphilia are your wheelhouse as well!

Absolutely fascinating – definitely not for the faint of heart. Some of the descriptions are horrific and brutal. While the author effectively summarizes key theories on the etiology of necrophilia, none seem entirely satisfactory. Given the rarity of necrophilia, it hasn't received extensive study, making this aspect sadly less enlightening. Nevertheless, the author has done a notable job providing relevant information and references. Overall, it's a well-researched book with several included case reports.

If this doesn't give you nightmares, I don't know what will:

Her son soon discovered her dead body, performed sexual intercourse with it, and then mutilated it in a most unusual manner. He passed his arm into her vagina, lacerated its upper end, penetrated into the abdominal cavity, reached the intestines, grabbed them, and pulled out two meters of brutally torn intestines. He reached as far as the liver, of which he brought out some shreds. Then he lay down beside his mother and slept.
