Thetta delivers an emotionally charged read - trust issues, secrets, loss, grief, angst, healing, romance, and communication issues consume the main characters. Demon In The Shadows has it all. There's nothing like a good MC read and Thetta's version is outstanding! I loved getting to know these two characters, Silas (Maverick) and Emberlynne. This book kept me turning the pages to see how their story would end. I was on pins and needles. The chemistry between Silas and Emberlynne sizzles. Their story has all the feels. Demons In The Shadows is well worth your reading time. Highly recommend!

I’m in awe!! Such a vivid and exciting story! The angst, chaos, deceit, and emotions flowed from the pages, making for rapid page turning!! I devoured this book! What an incredible feeling the ending left! Awesome read!

Loved It!!
If you are looking for a MC book that is full of action, drama, spice and deceptions this is a book for you. Maverick/Silas only wanted the best for the woman he loved and he thought that meant living a double life. She had no idea that he was not only connected with an MC but he was the Prez of the RBMC Atlanta Chapter. Emberlynne wanted nothing to do with MCs since her mother was killed by one.
When the truth finally comes out will she ever trust Maverick again? How strong is their love and can they overcome their issues to hopefully get their HEA? That was a huge page turner for me and I loved every moment of it.

Silas aka Mav was born and raised in the MC world, his father a "Prez" before him. He thought himself untouchable.
Then his life was twisted when a years old pact was revealed. He had to honor his father's word and assured assistance. In turn, his whole world was redefined when he met and got to know Emberlynne.
She was a bright eyed college student whose father he had promised to protect her. Because of their involvement with MCs and the fact he knew she was putting that life behind her, he felt he had to keep his MC to himself. Therein lies his biggest mistake.
As they grew closer, falling head over heels in love, the lies continued. He lead her to believe he was nothing more than a successful businessman who had frequent out of town business meetings or golf trips with buddies. This put even more strain on the relationship after their marriage.

If I could, I would give this book ten stars.
Thetta James, you belong to this world of MC and romance and that is how I will forever see you. The way these books grip my heart every time. I am in love with this book, with Maverick and Ember.
I cried, I laughed, I was angry, I felt so much and only in 216 pages.
Never have I read anything like this book that has pulled me in. I read this in a few days time, maybe a week at most. And I don't read fast. I could not put this book down. I can't wait to see what happens next in the rest of the books. Hoping to read more of Thetta James and the Royal Bastards MC Series. Truly a masterpiece.
I need Books for Steel, Nightmare, and everyone in the Atlanta Chapter of the Royal Bastards MC. I will read them all.

Her writing always pulls me in and doesn’t let go, with fantastic characters and storylines that are so full of emotion.
Silas/Maverick and Emberlynne are a married couple who are keeping secrets from each other that create havoc on their marriage. With a rival MC out for revenge, this story took me on a wild ride full of danger and kept me at the edge of my seat.
I loved reading about an existing relationship with flaws and turmoil to overcome, because let’s face it, every couple has their challenges to overcome.
Thetta definitely put my heart through the wringer with Demon In The Shadows before bringing Maverick and Emberlynne back to their HEA!

This is a well written story which is an easy to read, action packed story, with family, friendships, emotions, loyalty, trust, danger, suspense, intrigue, retribution, kidnapping, secrets, violence, revenge, touch her and die vibes, and love, which leads to an entertaining, spicy, and unpredictable, addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Theta James is a new author for me. This is a definite page turner. The story grabs you from the beginning and you can’t stop turning the pages. Demon in the Shadows takes you on a journey of betrayal, loss, grief, and a marriage built on secrets that will test the trust and love Silas and Ember have built. This was an amazing MC read. I love following these characters and being a part of their world. I wanted to jump ahead many times just to see where their journey took them. Not to mention the chemistry between these characters was off the charts. I would definitely recommend this book and author.

Thetta never disappoints! EmberLynne and Silas (Maverick) have there struggles and their story reminds us all that lies and holding back parts of our lives only creates hurt feelings and heartache. Love and loss are very powerful emotions. Their story only proves that once everyone can be honest, anything can be forgiven. Trust and truth are important parts of any good relationship. Demon in the Shadows by Thetta James is a fantastic story that digs into the MC world of deception, betrayal retribution, and the true power of love. This story follows the lives of Silas and Emberlynne, each with their own secrets. As secrets are revealed, their lives and the foundation they built is shaken.
Thetta did a fabulous job mixing together elements of action, drama, emotional turmoil, and sizzling heat. The intensity and heart in this book kept me quickly turning the pages. It’s a must read!

This story was not just a love story. It was a reminder of what life and trust should be in a relationship. When things are hidden from a partner. Being two different people at once will only lead to betrayal. Em and Mav almost lost what they once had. They lost the most precious thing they could've had as a family. But love conquers all. In the end, forgiveness was given, and a new start with honesty and trust was rebuilt. Thetta James, you got skills.. Keep moving forward. We can't wait to see what this new year brings from you and your team.

Before I say ANYTHING at all, I want to stress the importance of checking trigger warnings. Please. That's all I'm going to say on that matter. That being said, this book was very well written. I felt like I was right there in the moment in every page. It was a bit too intense for me. Especially a certain part that I won't get into because spoilers. But yeah. I liked it.

I absolutely love this book. The characters are well thought out and are intriguing with lots of unique traits. The road names for each of the gang members are bold and strong. Underlying it all, though, is a family, not through blood but by code. I love this whole angle on the story.
Silas is heading the gang up as 'Maverick' in this dual POV with his partner Ember. I absolutely adore that they are married and so dedicated to each other. All he wants to do is protect her, and in one of the biggest twists, that means lying to her.
The repercussions from that are well laid out in a great story with multiple events that steer the plot. Keep doing what you do, Thetta. You are a talented writer.

A steamy marriage-in-turmoil MC romance
Silas has been living a double life. As “Maverick,” the president of the Atlanta, GA, chapter of the Royal Bastards Motorcycle Club, he is ruthless. As Silas, husband of Ember, he is a loyal, devoted partner. Ember’s mother was killed due to her father’s involvement in a motorcycle club, so she has always hated MCs, leading Silas to hide that side of his life from her for five years. When Ember’s past comes back to haunt her, Silas’s secret will be revealed, and she will have to decide if she can stay married to a man who has lied to her for so long.
Demon in the Shadows is a quick, easy read. Fast-paced and full of action, the story grabs ahold of you right from the beginning. Told from multiple points of view–not just those of the two main characters–each scene paints a complete picture of the events in your mind’s eye.
The marriage-in-turmoil trope is one I have been wanting to read for a new perspective on the romance genre, and Thetta James’s book did not disappoint. Silas, despite his secret, is an incredible husband to Ember. While marketed as a dark romance, though, it really isn’t dark at all. There is some triggering content and dark themes, but the romance itself doesn’t fit that description. All in all, I flew through this novel and would love to read the next book when it is released.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the story of Silas/Maverick and Emberlynne. He has been born and raised in the MC world. His father was the President and Mav got the idea that he was untouchable. He never saw a years old pact coming into the light and throwing his life off the rails. However, he couldn't not honor his fathers word. This also led to him meeting Emberlynne. She is a college student. All bright eyed and innocent. But she is the one that Mav promised her father he would protect. She too has been involved in MC's and is putting that life behind her. Mav however makes the mistake of keeping his involvement in his MC a secret from her. If you lie one time, you're going to lie again to cover that lie and so on and so forth. So as they get closer and closer Mav is lying more and more. However, Evelynne is not all innocent in this. She too has secrets that she is keeping. Now, that secret is about to come to light as it is time for that debt to be paid in full.
I can't say more about this book or I will give something away. I really liked these characters and the book is so good that it will keep you reading well into the night. You do not want to miss this one.
