George Durrant is, I suppose, largely forgotten among most Latter-day Saints today, even among those who know who he is. He was the first of my two MTC presidents while I served my mission preparing to depart for Portugal. He was and is a gentle, faithful, loving soul, one who always built others and always seemed unostentatiously cheerful.
Years ago my parents, who were temple workers with Brother Durrant, that every time he was asked how he was doing he would reply, "It's my best day so far." I loved that response.
Recently for some reason I recall feeling that I could use some George Durrant in my life. I found this and one other book online, used, and immediately ordered them both. This book was just what the doctor ordered and I am already doing and feeling better. And now that I have finished this book, today is my best day so far.
