I have a soft spot in my heart for George Durrant. I enjoy listening to him speak, and I love reading his books.
This book is full of chapters of the smaller, less significant days in a life that represent a life chock full of "best days." Durrant demonstrates how to turn any day into a "best day" whether it's recognizing a feeling of hope, a possibility for a new start, or feeling gratitude for something difficult accomplished or learned.
I also love Durrant's frequent references to my hometown--American Fork, Utah. The whole thing gives me a nostalgic feeling of an earlier, easier, sweeter time.
If you're yearning for a feel-good book, this could be your ticket.

George Durrant is, I suppose, largely forgotten among most Latter-day Saints today, even among those who know who he is. He was the first of my two MTC presidents while I served my mission preparing to depart for Portugal. He was and is a gentle, faithful, loving soul, one who always built others and always seemed unostentatiously cheerful.

Years ago my parents, who were temple workers with Brother Durrant, that every time he was asked how he was doing he would reply, "It's my best day so far." I loved that response.

Recently for some reason I recall feeling that I could use some George Durrant in my life. I found this and one other book online, used, and immediately ordered them both. This book was just what the doctor ordered and I am already doing and feeling better. And now that I have finished this book, today is my best day so far.

I don't know why I like his books so much. It may be because I remember him from the time he was our mission president. It may be because of his sense of humor. It may be because of his sincerity and presentation of truth.

Thanks Lorraine! It helped me to visualize the author speaking this! I think it's a book I'll keep in mind when my son is in late High School!
