Rate this book
In this special edition, the Excalibur team is out to stop a crazed biophysicist intent on destroying the earth. In doing so, the members will have to stop not only the scientist but also his robot, and a deadly android the scientist had built. The episodes separately showcase each of the Excalibur members’ individual abilities, as each must do their part to stop the rampage. In the end, however, it’s the smallest member of the team—the dragon Lockheed—that must save the day.

This is classic, classic Excalibur, but sadly, just with classic TV, there is a little term we call "stilted" where things don't quite hold up to the passage of time... This arc definitely has a STRONG touch of that, but it's saved with Rachel's strong badassery (that honestly reminds me of an earlier Xena in some ways), the interactions between Meggan and a cameoing character Coldblood (definitely one I'll be keeping an eye out for more on), and most of all, the you-don't-want-to-miss-if-you're-a-pets-lover Lockheed story at the end! Indeed, it's Lockheed's story at the end that EARNS the fifth star!
