I must confess to having read only 3/4 of the book. The last sixty pages or so are various compositions from mainly famous authors and poets. I read a couple but did not find them interesting.
I had to slog through the first few chapters before I found good insights, thoughtful discussion, and provocative questions. This text is more suited for someone who writes for a living or a student (it really is a textbook, in essence) who aspires to be a writer. I may have to check it out again in a few years when it may be more pertinent to me.
