A great book on learning what cues the horse tunes into and learning about timing and feel for when to release the cue. Because it's the release that the horse learns from. You don't want to nag the horse constantly, they have a job and once they learn it, they can hold themselves up and you may just have to pick up a rein to help them now and again. Well written. I look forward to finding the books for parts 2 and 3.

I absolutely love this book. I used it daily with the first horse I really trained on my own and now use it again with my new mare (25+ years later). Lyon's advice throughout the book is clear, logical, and easy to follow. The only exception I take with it is his response to biting, which rubbed me the wrong way the first time I read it and continues to today - everything else makes sense.

I read the first two Communicating with Cues series. What I really like about them is that you can take individual lessons to teach your horse something, and you don't necessarily need to follow each chapter step by step to get a result. His method of communicating is knowledgeable and easy to understand.
