This was one of the better written romances I've read. However, to be honest, the intimacy scenes appeared a bit tame, which is a bit contrary to the cover's impression.

But I enjoyed it nonetheless. What impressed me most was that for a book published in 1989 I fully expected the "h" to simply give in and do what the health-nut "H" wanted. I had no expectation that it would prove to be a "meet in the middle" kind of conclusion to their HEA. But it was... Cait gives up a little but sticks to her guns on her love of chocolate and Adam becomes a bit less of a judgey jerk and is fine with the chocolate, just not the smoking. I was fully prepared to still like the book and view it through a 1989 lens instead of a 2025 lens. So in that respect the book was a pleasant, progressive surprise.

Loved the '80s bits - like sweat pants being sexy & phone messages instead of voicemail :)
