This was a fun, fast read! The passion is smoldering, and the pace lightning fast! I would have liked to get to know Savannah and Antoine a little better, but there is only so much you can do in such a short amount of words, so we got a glimpse into their personalities with little as to their daily thoughts and deep desires. This is definitely not your grannies' sweet romance, so be prepared for some teasing, pleasing and graphic interactions :) Overall this was a great first book in a series th ...more
A well-balanced blend of paranormal, eroticism, and spine-tingling thrills!

Since she had arrived for her stay at the artists’ colony called Les Beaux Arts at the Chateau DeRoche, she’d noticed something different about the owner, Antoine Chevalier. And not just the way his eyes bore into hers, shooting shivers through her and making it difficult to breathe. His quiet nature, his preference for seclusion for days at a time, and his still, composed temperament belied an intensity within. Noir ey

Savannah Evans is taking time off from her graduate classes to attend a prestigious art colony, Les Beaux Arts. This is a once in a lifetime chance for the poet. The quiet island, the castle, and other artists are a wonderful influence on her work. Another influence she wasn’t counting on was the castle owner Antoine Chevalier. Savannah quickly finds herself hopelessly attracted to the mysterious gentleman, and the attraction is far from one sided.

Great Series!
This is a great new series by Lisa Carlisle. Savannah is thrilled when she is accepted as a resident to the prestigious art colony. While there she will be able to just focus on her poetry. Every time she sees the sexy owner of the colony and famous artist Antoine, she can’t think of nothing else but how it would feel to be in his arms. The attraction between them grows until he makes a move. He is dark, and has a secret that he is keeping from her. This book was very easy to read i

Looking for a sexy vampire novel? If so, then this is definitely a must buy! Why? First off, it's set in a medieval castle on an island off the coast of New England. The author's description was so detailed that once I finished, I did a Google search of castles that I'd like to visit. Second thru ninety-five (The number of pages the book has!): The insanely hot chemistry between the female protagonist Savannah & vampire Antoine. Their intensity starts off right away and you're not a chapter ...more

This book drawls you in from page one. Its dark sexy. Antione has a secret. I would have loved for it to be longer. I felt there was just so much more to tell. If you are looking for a short dark sexy read, this is the book for you.

Short sweet and sexy read. I appreciated that the story had depth although it had a limited page count. I would have enjoyed seeing what happened next for Antoine and Savannah -- especially with her humanity :).

Savannah and Antoine continue their banter in this book. Savannah wants him but he is holding back. He wants to open up to her but he fears that she won’t understand. When he finally gives in, Savannah realizes her true feelings. Will she run or will she stay? Excellent writing. This series keeps getting better and better.

Smoking hot vampire/gargoyle vs school teacher and poet in a wicked romance. A castle, villain, stormy night and oooh you'll just have to read it.
I left off a point in this rating only because I hate errors....more than two is a point in my world.
Aside from this fussy readers assessment..Check out this sweet, short read.

Loved it!

Having Savannah 's view of her feelings for Antoine was refreshing. This is the second book in the series and I'm beginning to form an attachment to the characters in the story, like Antoine and Cameron. The books are deffenetly a little too short for my taste.

This is the first book in the Chateau Seductions trilogy. Each one can be read as a standalone but somethings make more sense if they are read in order. IMO

So I’m just going to put this out there. I think I fell in love more with the description of the castle and the island than the characters. I know that sounds wrong but

Dark Velvet: What a great story!!
I was given this book for an honest review and I really enjoyed it! I do have to warn you though it is a fast read and will leave you wanting more of Savannah and Antoine's story.
Antoine is a gargoyle that was turned into a vampire in the 1800's. Antoine moved from Europe to America and with his love of art he recently established a colony for artists, Les Beaux Arts at Chateau DeRoche (Art's Colony) on DeRoche Island off the Coast of Massachusetts. Savannah is

What a great Vampire erotic story. Meet Antoine the dark mysterious sculptor who owns a replica castle on a remote New England island. He's a patron of the arts and allows students to stay at his castle and work on their ideas. Savannah is a struggling grad student who has decided to stay at Antoine's castle to work on her poetry. She feels a pull towards Antoine but isn't sure he returns the feelings until one night. He does return them and throws some kink in too. The passion between these two ...more

This novella captivated me from the very beginning. Although it's a modern story, it is told with what I would call an old world feel. Almost historical or Midevil. The words flowed over the page almost effortlessly with great detail and the characters had depth. I loved the passion between Savannah and Antoine. And not just in the bedroom, but the passion they had for art and life. The attraction between them is electric. When Antoine invites her to his study late one night, you are hoping to e ...more

This book was a gift from the author and Paranormal Romance & Authors That Rock for an honest review.

Savannah has obtained an opportunity to stay at an artist colony for a few months. The colony is located on an island off the east coast and is run by the mysterious Frenchman, Antoine. While Savannah feels an instant connection, she feels that something is different. And boy is she right!

This was my first-time reading a Lisa Carlisle book and one about a gargoyle turned vampire. I received this as an ARC from Lisa for an honest review.

It wasn't originally my cup of tea because of all the art references. I know, I know it's set at an art colony, but I was expecting a bit more passion and dominance rather than a brooding vampire and descriptions of each piece of art. That said, it was a quick read which was very well-written.

He trys to keep her away from him espically after she learns his secrets, but what she feels she can't let go of.

Antoine is sexy and mysterious and with the way he is you just want to know more about him. Watching as he allows Savannah in you just wanted them to find happiness together.

When you first start reading this book, you are really set aside by the amount of detail the author puts into the surroundings and characters. I was quite surprised how fast this book moved.
This book is very unique in that the platform for romance is quite dark even for being such a light-hearted romance. I was a little disappointed that the romance didn't go further than it did in the beginning but I guess that is the whole point of suspense.
There were some twists thrown in there that I hope t

Wow, that ending left me wanting MORE.
Wow the fast pace of this book pulled me in.
The art, the surrounding, the desire, the darkness - wow what a hot mix.
The descriptions of the statues, the castle, the rooms, Savannah's clothing is amazing.
The scenes between Savannah & Antoine are brief and unfinish (left wanting more) but Savannah learns Antoine's secret its not hard to understand him sending her away.
She leaves the island to get away to think and upon her return she is faced with a much b

This was my first book I've read of Lisa Carlisle. I liked it a lot. The book is about a gargoyle turned into a vampire. I loved that little twist there. It's so different from most vamp books turning. I loved the chemistry between the main characters Antoine Chevalier (Such a sexy name - love it) and lady love Savannah Evans. They meet at his castle that happens to house a prestigious art colony. The mood of the book is very sexy and well written. I really enjoyed visiting the world Ms. Carlisl ...more

Savannah Evans is a writer who is invited to a castle to help her with her writing. Little does she know the handsome owner has his sites set on her. Antoine Chevalier has lived a long life and lives in a castle where he invites various artists to come and learn and be inspired. Meeting Savannah and loosing his heart was not what he planned to do.

Finding love after so very long without
In this well written story you have Antoine Chevalier who built Les Beaux Arts on DeRoche Island to bring purpose back into his life. He used to love art and wants to help other young artist. Savannah Evans is one such artist who writes poetry. After more than a month of the two giving each other heated glances they finally meet privately. But an unknown danger lurks on the island beside Savannah finding out what Antoine is. Great addition to the series and

Sav's first sexual interaction with Antoine could have went better than it did. There should have been more suave seduction from Antoine. There was no suave just direct demand, she did it without much of a fight, that was a turn off. The way that scene went and the way they both reacted just did not sit well with me. I was at 21% went I quit reading. I didn't think the story could turn out any better after that scene.

Good thing I only wasted 99 cents on that read. There is nothing wrong in the w
