What happens when a middle-aged scientist gets sober, then embarks on a second career-as a stripper?

This is the story of one woman's sexual odyssey as she turns the microscope on herself and looks inward to determine what is real and what is not, what is merely dogma and childhood and cultural indoctrination. Uprooted and shuffled around in a military family, Susan turned

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I always admire when people have the courage to share their true stories: not just the sunshine and rainbows version. Susan tells her story in an easy to read tone that makes it easy to

From Sex Appeal to Self Appeal is a brave chronicle of a woman’s journey to wholeness. With searing honesty, Bremer O’Neill describes a struggle to find self-acceptance through sex and drugs, a secondary career in exotic dancing, and an eventual coming-to-terms with the lessons of a youth- and beauty-obsessed society. Although the story is a personal one, it can speak to women of all ages who struggle to express their sexuality amid society’s expectations.

When we dare to stretch ourselves and do what we think we're not "supposed to," (for me even writing a review of my own book feels taboo) we gain courage. This is a book of co ...more
