Cat Sinclair is a former actress (not a very good one) now working as the office manager at her father's former business Knight Investigations. Cat's biggest problem right now is she is bored, bored, bored! There is only so much filing, paying bills and answering phones a person can do before you're ready to scream. Cat has been after Will to allow her to become an investigator, but since she barely does her job, he sees no future in her becoming an investigator.

Liked this one a lot! It is well written and has a pleasant style.
Cat is working as an office manager at the PI office once started by her late father. The owner now is his former partner Will Knight, who is often mad at lazy Cat but until now has not fired her.
Cat reminds me a bit of Lexi Graves of the same series by Camilla Chafer. Stubborn, mouthy and determined. Cat takes on a case regarding stolen jewellery although Will reminds her the agency does not take on domestic cases. The ...more

Ho hum; another 'funny' female sleuth, with a complicated love life...
Cat is lazy, several major clues fly over her empty head, deliberately antagonizes people, lies non-stop to everyone, misjudges all the wrong people, alienates the person she can trust, and refuses to ask for help when her life is in danger.
Most of the humour is based around her taking prat falls, and from constantly screwing up & putting herself/investigation at risk. I'm sorry, but some airhead making the same dumb ...more

Wannabe
Cat Sinclair, wannabe PI, is stuck being a secretary with her father's firm, Knight Investigations. Until, a woman, Roberta Scarletti, comes in one day, looking for a PI to retrieve her jewelry from her ex-husband. Cat secretly takes on the case and soon after chaos begins. Cat's apartment is set on fire and someone tries to run her down with their car. And plus she keeps being followed. But in the end, she gets her man.

I couldn't help but compare this book to Janet Evanovich's Plum series but one star lower. The main character, Cat, is a secretary that wants to be an investigator and continuously gets herself into dangerous situations. The story also has two competitive, hot guys that both want Cat. One guy is a cop and the other is a fellow investigator. Sound familiar?
Similarities aside, it was a good book and will look for more written by this author.
