I am so done with this series. Let’s look at the facts here.

1) pirates involved in human trafficking of young maidens who are blue bloods

2) you and one other person get kidnapped on purpose to find the rest of the abducted women

3) you and your friend are trapped on a ship full of pirates and a second ship full of bad guys is bearing down on you, all fully armed and ready to kill you

4) there is heavy fog and your reinforcements are probably not going to reach you anytime soon

Do you:

A) use only your sheathed sword to do minimal damage and knock the pirates unconscious or

B) use the cutlasses off your unconscious pirate victims and actually HURT and possibly kill the bad guys who 1) out number you horribly and 2) are actively trying to kill you and your one friend?

Yeah, I get it, she doesn’t want to kill, but it’s self defense and these are human traffickers. They knew the consequences of their bad actions. And if you merely knock them unconscious, eventually they wake up again and might try to fight you again.

Also, it’s been six volumes and we still have NO clue about her husband’s reasons for worldwide war, or if he’s even been knocked off track by everything she’s been working so hard to do.

It’s also tiring that she is the smartest in the room, constantly. 🥱

2, I’m tapping out, stars.

Novelty is wearing off at this point. I think the concept of the novel is quite good, and there's a bit of mystery involving Arnold and what his plans are for the future... but realistically speaking, things just happen so conveniently in this book that it's kind of unrealistic. Everything happens and falls into place too easily IMO. Yeah, I get that she's supposed to have experience from her previous life but at some point it's just unreal 🥲 I find it hard to believe almost everything is going similarly to her previously life even though in the writing itself, it talks about how things are slowly changing.

Also, 99% sure most people won't be interested in Arnold because the way he's described is emotionless. I'm a fan of grumpy, emotionally stunted men but even I feel like there should still be a little more sustenance with his character development? 😭 I wish the translation/author didn't describe some of Arnold's face as just blank (in a case, "eyes still devoid of emotion"). He obviously has them, and the actions say otherwise but why describe in such a way!!

Anywaaaays I hope we get more backstory on Arnold soon because they're dropping a lot of hints but nothing conclusive.

The romance portion of this always hits 👌 And sometimes I do wish it was not a YA book but that's just me being a degen

Rishe really doesn't seem to see her own value, but it's clear those around her do at least to varying degrees. Oliver and Arnold probably aren't far off saying that all of these deals and new followers are due to Rishe herself. It's understandable with how she puts her skills to use that she's not only winning over those she knew in her past lives, but also those she's coming into contact with now, like the sailors who all volunteer to help because it's for their crown princess. We get to see even more emotional expressions from Arnold, even though most of the time he's his usual stoic self. The bonus stories are adorable, as always, and the confirmation at the end from the author that more than one man was in love with Rishe in her previous lives and she has no clue at all is hilarious. For all her experience, Rishe really is perhaps a bit naive and very inexperienced when it comes to this side of her emotions, but she's suddenly getting a lot of practice now that she's realizing just how deeply she cares about Prince Arnold.

Another great addition to the story

I felt full of warm fuzzies reading this volume. Rihse and Arnold are growing closer and their affections are heartwarming to read. It's also a pleasure to learn more about the people who shaped her through her party lives. This volume sheds some light on her 6th life and time as a knight (nicely timed for volume 6 lol). Additionally, the various clues gathered along the previous volumes are starting to fall together and the bigger picture is starting to take shape.

The story continues on a good trajectory and I find the way Rishe's past intermixes with her present life interesting. However... this volume suffered greatly from "telling not showing," particularly concerning Rishe's perspective of Arnold being pushed onto the reader unnecessarily hard, I guess to cancel out what he's done to her in her past six lives. It's a constant reiteration of "He's so nice, even when his eyes are blank and he has no emotion on his face, trust me, he's touching my hair and he doesn't control my every move, not because that's just a normal thing to do, it's because he's got saint-level of niceness buried under there that only I can perceive -- trust me." That sort of using Rishe to push her perspective of Arnold on the reader without doing any background work is a bit of a cop-out in my opinion, and it leaves much to be desired in the growth or even development of Arnold as his own separate character. I hope this will improve in future volumes because I am really curious as to how the pieces of this mystery will eventually come together.

As the day of her wedding draws near, Rishe - now fully aware of her feelings for Prince Arnold - arranges a visit to a port town to be fitted for her wedding dress. If she also means to arrange an encounter with Sir Joel, her knight mentor from her sixth life, well. It's always good to multitask, and if it helps her in her quest to prevent the war she always ends up dying in, all the better!

Prince Arnold throws a wrench in her plans by accompanying Rishe, and together they uncover a human trafficking ring... Will they be able to apprehend the people behind the ring and save the young noblewomen? Will Rishe make it to her dress fitting? Most importantly, will Rishe be able to master kissing Prince Arnold?

Like the previous books in this series, this was a light, enjoyable read. Rishe is more determined than ever to prevent the war that killed her in her past six lives, and just as determined that Prince Arnold find happiness himself even if she needs to oppose him. Even as she dreams about living a carefree life, Rishe is using the knowledge gained from her past experiences to think of ways to better the lives of her soon-to-be country. She also uncovers a little more about Arnold's past and the brutal upbringing he had which shaped him into the man she's going to marry. It will be interesting to see how things continue to unfold.

Damn, this series is getting interesting!

This book was just another instance where we see Rishe and her skills coming into play and how she is efficiently planning and trying to reach her goal. Arnold is no less, seeing through most of the plans while also planning his own set of things!

We see Rishe and Arnold come closer in this book, we get a bit more emotions out of Arnold and we also see Rishe reflecting on her 6th loop (funnily this is Vol. 6).

Given how this Vol. ended, I really think the next volume is going to start off quite strong and we are going to get some fresh people and points of discussions!

I really want the anime and manga to pick up speed asap so I can see it all play out visually. Esp. given that most of the volumes in these series has a lot of filler words or sounds for expressions, it would be more convincing watching than reading them. But I must say I enjoy the occasional visuals in the light novel.

Can't wait for the next volume.

I really like Rishe and I wish we could be friends. Also, I'm starting to think the "Carefree Life" thing is well, a little wrong. I don't know how Arnold does it, I would be super stressed letting her do all those things. Good for him, but I would be DISTRESSED.

JUST PERFECT!!

I've been a fan of Touko sensei since I watched the anime, and each one of the LN never disappoints. This whole story has the perfect balance of mystery, romance, suspense, and exquisite plot. It was at the edge of my seat reading about how we are getting closer to Rishe's wedding and the new challenges she will face in order to save Arnold and herself of the future she saw so many times in her past lives.

Touko is sensei is able to enrich this story, book after book, and give us one of the best character developments I've seen this year. I won’t give too much away from the story, but that ending was just perfect.

I can't wait to read the next one 🤗

I am staying because I wan't to know how it ends, but the last few installments have been a bit hard to get through.

The premise was novel in the beginning though the story is the standard shoujo cliche: cold and powerful male lead, Mary sue female lead who is good at everything, blushes and gets embarassed for everything related to romance and everyone loves her (and often puts herself in danger even though it doesn't really make sense for her to do so as a future crown princess, e.g. playing hostage).

I liked how she was intelligent and used all the skills she learned in her previous lives (although it feels Mary sue-ish) and how her previous lives intertwined with her current one, but after six volumes the story is getting boring. I did not find the pirate storyline very engaging and some things did not make sense. Like letting Rishe play hostage to begin with (giving an unknown enemy the Rishe crown princess-to-be does not seem very smart, after all, if discovered she would make the perfect hostage). It also doesn't make sense that they don't recognize her as the crown princess, seeing as everyone is aware that the crown couple is making an official visit in the city. I also don't get why they didn't wait until they arrived at the destination before escaping the boat in the middle of the sea, their goal is to find out where they are heading...sure, the destination was conveniently marked on a map in the cabin, but the logic was weird.

I am also growing a bit weary of the way Rishe acts like the most wittless, cliche shoujo heroine whenever romance is involved, sputtering and blushing whenever he kisses her hand or lips... It was fine in the beginning but I find it tiresome.

I still find Arnold's motives intriguing and want to know the endgame! One of my theories is that Arnold also remembers his previous lives (they are both connected to the goddess and some prophecy perhaps?). Perhaps he remember seeing and killing Rishe in the last life and realised he was sent to the next loop when she died, so when he met her again as the daughter of the duke he proposed in order to keep her next to him and alive so he may finally achieve the goal of his war? Which is why he feels guilty and that keeping Rishe next to him is a sin? Just a theory x)

True rating, 3.5 but rounded up to 4.

I still enjoyed the book, and I will continue to read the series, but I felt the first 100-150 pages of this volume were dragging. The last 100 were wonderful and action-packed. It felt somewhat rushed, probably because so much of the first half was spent on Rishe's repetitive thoughts.

I was not a fan of Rishe's "internal struggle" because it was a ton of repetition of "Prince Arnold is the big bad in all my past lives so I mustn't let my guard down. However, I am in love with him, so this makes things tough for me." Then she goes on to think about her past lives and experiences with Prince Arnold. Repeating details from other books or details from her past lives. None of it is new info. Wasting pages on flashbacks instead of progressing the plot.

Rishe reminisced on her past lives more than usual in this volume. Specifically with Joel, since she plotted to meet him in this life. Gurl, I get it. You loved Joel. Even if you don't call it that, it's clear he was more than a mentor to you. Also, it was so obvious to me that Joel knew "Lu" was a woman. He's too smart not to have noticed from the beginning, but he respected Rishe's choices and never brought it up. Then, he clearly fell for her, so it makes sense why Prince Arnold and Raul are cautious with Joel even though it's not the same Joel as her sixth life. They picked up on Joel's interest in Rishe immediately.

Rishe went from resolute to changing Arnold's plans to useless blushing bride in this book. She can make all these plans but is getting worse and worse with maintaining composure with any attention from Arnold. Like gurl, you had six lives without him. Get it together. She redeemed herself at the end during the fight when she internally declared her new goal. It's what I wanted to hear but much sooner in the book. Execution was 🤌🏾 *chef's kiss*.

I think we could have gotten more plot progression, though. This pit stop with Joel was key, but it could have been done in the first half of the book versus the last chunk.

Anyway, I'll be here longing for the next volume because I NEED to know if my suspicions of Arnold's true intentions are right.

In vol. 6, the story aptly focuses on Rishe’s sixth life. She’s visiting Bezzetoria, Galkhein’s primary port, to procure her wedding dress, while secretly trying to stop Arnold from obtaining ships that would broaden the range of his future conquest. This leads to her unearthing a whole scheme involving human trafficking, as well as a reunion with her mentor as a knight in her previous life. Now that Rishe knows she’s in love with Arnold, she’s also become more assertive with him. He’s starting to show a more playful side to him as well, but his true objective remains a mystery. For now, all that we know is he’s still wishing for war.

While it’s still a good installment to the series, this volume really suffers from repetitive writing and a great deal of telling instead of showing. There’s a disconnect between Arnold’s actions towards Rishe and how he’s always described as devoid of emotions. He’s clearly not emotionless. It’s as if the book is telling us how to feel about Arnold, both through the writing and Rishe’s perspective, which just feels so lazy to me. Similarly, Rishe’s bond with Joel in her previous life was also just told through a series of flashbacks that barely have any depth. Even his background is all laid out in expositions that sometimes can be distracting from the story. It’s a shame because Joel is an interesting character, but the writing didn’t handle him as well as it did Raul in vol. 4. Apparently both were in love with Rishe in her past lives, though it would’ve been nicer if it it was hinted in the story instead of stated in the afterword.

The romance part is great though, as always. Arnold’s reaction to seeing Rishe in her wedding dress is so precious.

The ending of this volume promises something great for the next one, but it’s going to take a while for it to come out since it’s not even released in Japan yet. Hopefully it’s going to improve.

Okay, so here I am, ready to gush about Volume 6! 😭 I know some people complain about the formula — every volume has some new conflict or battle, and somehow Arnold and Rishe manage to solve it — but honestly? I love it. I love seeing how they interact, how they trust each other, and how they always find a way to work together.

Arnold supporting Rishe, even when she puts herself in danger, is just… ugh, my heart. 💖 Not every fiancé — let alone a crown prince — would let their partner truly be themselves, but Arnold does. He lets her live, lets her fight, and even fights with her. Watching them become true partners, on and off the battlefield, is just so beautiful.

And can we talk about their relationship progression? They’re sleeping in the same bed every night now (!!) and when people comment that they “smell the same,” I couldn’t stop laughing. The fact that others see Arnold as this cold, unreachable figure makes it even more special that Rishe is the one person who’s broken through that wall. She has him wrapped around her finger, and it’s adorable.

Also, the afterword! Arnold being “7 out of 10 in love” had me screaming — I need him at a full 10/10 ASAP. 😆 I cannot wait for Rishe to finally confess, because his reaction is going to be priceless. And don’t even get me started on the wedding… where is it?! I need them to be husband and wife already. Plus, the thought of Rishe meeting his father? I just know there’s so much more coming.

I don’t know if Volume 7 is out yet, but whenever it is, I’m READY. This series just keeps getting better and better, and I’m loving every second of this journey with Arnold and Rishe. 💫

I’ve loved volumes 1-5 but this one really wasn’t as good as the previous ones for me. Chapter 3 in particular was way too long and rather boring. I don’t wanna read about Arnold’s “expressionless eyes” anymore especially since he’s shown plenty of kindness. Does Rishe really need to the smartest / best person in the room every single time? Can’t somebody else know something before her? I know she’s lived 6 previous lives but it’s as if she has nothing new to learn in this life.
Anyway, I’m still gonna read the next volume!

Rishe was cleverly making her way through all the plots again, but who is really behind all of this and where will it lead? The answer to that makes it all the more interesting to follow along on each adventure. It feels like the conclusion is swiftly approaching and I don't know if that's because this book reviews her 6th loop or if it's because her request at the end. Cute and fanciful as always - this is definitely a light read and a fun series to re-read.

Now I just have to wait for the next one...

These are getting so good and so complicated. I feel like all the connections of Rishe's past 6 lives have been fleshed out, and she realized that even though she does love Arnold, they'll remain enemies as long as he goes forward with this war. Seems like she's finally going to meet his father in the next installment, which will be absolutely insane given, well...everything.

Beautiful story

I can’t wait to see what happens next! I have so many questions about the characters and what they’re thinking, especially Prince Arnold. Can Rishe pull off her HEA with the prince? I do hope this goes on the entire five years of Rishe’s life to see if she thwarted Arnold’s war against the world.

Okay….. the ending felt rushed. But, most of the time, there is a long lead up to the final fight; then, someone makes an ominous request or remark followed by “to be continued”. Soooooooo…… I guess it has technically happened in the past but this volume just did it more abruptly for me.

Anyway, next volume can’t get here soon enough!
