I used this in my Mother Goose storytime. It expanded on the more well-known rhyme and added lots of silliness to the tale. The illustrations and text played off of each other and my kids loved it.

For: Mother Goose fans; readers wanting a new take on a well-known classic.

Red flags: He gets steadily broken throughout the book but does not perish on the page; characters in peril.

I loved this book. The end is so sweet! And there's like 6 humpty Rhymes which is fantastic! Only reason not a 5 is cuz my humpty loving 3.5yo son didn't love it (he liked it though)

I enjoyed this retelling of a classic nursery rhyme. The illustrations were beautifully illustrated and it was refreshing to read so many different expansions on the classic Humpty Dumpty story we all know. The book works to really flush out Humpty as a character and the many different parts of his life. Yet it always returns to the same theme of him getting in some sort of mess and needing putting back together. The book also does a good job to illustrate how you can take a classic tale and rework it into new and exciting idea and plot. I would recommend this book to any fans of nursery rhymes and people who are looking for a good short read for kids.

This extends Humpty Dumpty into a complete board book. I liked that it didn't overdue making it a happy story. At the very end, its revealed that Numpty Dumpty is a toy, so there is no need to worry about him, but until that point, he continues to fall and get hurt time and time again. I found it a little disturbing when he falls down a well and his yoke almost begins to leak. Natalie loved the cover and was giggling at it, but was pushing the book away due to lack of interest 2/3 of the way through.

This is a story about a clumsy egg that struggles with not cracking his shell. First he fell off a well, then he tripped on a toad, after he fell down a well, then he fell out of his sailboat, and then got thrown off a horse. He is only safe when he is in the arms of his owner. The illustrations are extremely detailed and very colorful. This is a great book to read at cirlce time or for a teacher to just have sitting in the reading corner.
