This is the story of a man I was privileged to know in St. Louis, who suffered a tragic car accident that left him a quadriplegic in 1961, yet taught himself how to be independent, and found a organization, Paraquad, that was in the forefront of getting the Americans With Disabilities Act passed. An inspiring story of what one person can accomplish with determination, grit, and more than a little chutzpah.
