Such a surprise…a book about dragons had me turning page after page…just anticipating the next turn of events.

Now, I did go through a fad with reading these type of books but it was quickly squashed and I was a bitreview.

You know that anticipation of a new book, new author, new series? Am I going to like it, am I going to be sad, mad, angry or just not care? Spark, the first of the Hailey Holloway Series had me from page one, not carefully landing into the story, but plunged ungracefully and loving every page of funny, snarky attitude as we are invited into the truly overcrowded mind of Hailey Holloway, who already mentally talks to herself! Two men with unusual eyes, wait, two dragons, wait, two men again, no one dra ...more

I'm going to be completely honest because anything less would be doing a disservice to the author, as well as those interested in giving this novel a try.

Ready?

It's quite good!

The characterization is strong - particularly the two leads. We're given rich demonstrations of their personalities, likes and dislikes, flaws and strengths, etc. Overall, they feel like real, multi-dimensional people. Their chemistry is palpable and reads very realistically. We understand exactly why they lo

OH. MY. GLOB! It’s not very often I encounter what I consider true urban fantasy, but I think K.C. Stewart may have pulled it off. Spark is an excellent start to a truly unique series. I am going to try to do this review as best I can without spoiling anything.

Okay, so, looking at the synopsis, I can talk about the dragon in her head. The book opens with our main girl hearing voices. Not just hearing voices, but having conversations with the voice. Well, not so much having a conversa

I know you are not suppose to judge a book by it's cover, but when I saw the cover of this book, I knew I had to read it. I had no clue what the book was even about, but I knew I wanted to get my hands on it. Once I found out the book was about dragons, I knew it had to be mine.

I am so glad I was able to read this book, because I truly enjoyed it! The book was so unique! A hot dragon shifter stuck inside the main character's head? Now, that is truly something I have never read about before. The

I enjoyed this novel but it was far lighter in content and plot than I’d expected – my mistake I’m sure of course. I’d read the sample of the second book which sounds great fun, and requested this one without checking. As always though I’m sure book two will read better as I know what’s gone before. Anyway Dacea the red dragon is stuck – inside Hailey, and the search is on to restore him. Silas the

Reading Spark is one of the reasons I love being involved with a Blog. Never in a million years would I have picked this book to read and that would be my loss.

A dragon as a hero and hot love interest? Are you kidding me? How can this be anything but a joke?

Dacea (Dak to Hailey) is a shape shifter. He is a dragon in the Red tribe. Honestly Dak is more than a dragon he is heir apparent to the king’s crown. Hailey is a

*This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review*

In the world there are regular humans, witches, Gods, Goddesses, and dragons (if not more magical creatures). After an unfortunate occurrence Hailey wants nothing more than the voice in her head to stop and leave her alone. The only problem with that is, she (nor the man who is also a dragon), know how to get him from Hailey’s head back into his own body. Dacea, in his green dragon form, was fighting a long tim

I never know what I’m going to get when I pick up a new book by an author I haven’t read. Well this one sealed the deal, I’m a fan!!! A big one :) This is the first book of the series, and holy HAWT fire breathing dragons, I’m all in! I am quite impressed with this book and it’s plot and great characters. And let me say outright, just jump into book two asap, because you’ll love book one so much!

Spark (Hailey Holloway #1) by K.C. Stewart

Spark is a modern fantasy. Hailey encounters a battle between dragons one night on her way home and makes the life-changing decision to comfort the loser in his last moments. But doing so only invites the dragon's soul into her own body. Now, the dragon remains as a voice in her head, and Hailey has no idea how to get rid of him.

Wow!!!
I know that sounds cliché, but WOW!!! This is the first book in the Hailey Holloway series. I can not wait for the next one. This book made me laugh out loud and ugly face cry. Only great authors can tap into those emotions and make you feel what the character is feeling. You, Ms. Stewart, have done that for me. This book has got everything from the unlikely heroine to the wickedly evil villain.

I found a lot of myself in Hailey. She was a very relatable character. She's

Spark is book one in the Hailey Holloway series. Book two Singe is available now.

K.C. Stewart has a real winner on her hands with this series. She has written some fantastic and authentic characters that kept me wanting more and more of them. I am glad that book two is out so I can continue the story.

My Rating 3.5 Stars.

Spark, Book 1 in the Hailey Holloway Series, by K.C. Stewart is an Urban Fantasy involving many different types of creatures: humans, witches, dragons, and muses. Hailey Holloway is a twenty-four year old college graduate working as a copy editor for a travel magazine who also enjoys simplicity. This was an amazing read, I loved it the action, the adventure, thrills, witty repartee, the characters, the setting. It was all amazingly well written, the plot was imaginative, the detail was fantastic and the pace of the story was great. I enjoyed this story a lot and look forward to finding out what will happen next for Hailey and her handsome dragon mate.

Haley was your average boring person. She went to work and went home she was a pushover everybody gave her their work to do at work and she did it without saying a thing. She would hide her emotions inside herself learning at an early age it did no good to show anyone what she was feeling. On her way home from work one day she walked through a park on a shortcut that she always takes, when she happened across two giant dragon dueling. She thought she was losing her mind because everyone knows dr ...more

Wonderful book it kept me captivated from beginning to end. It had a bit of everything, evil, good, friendships made, love lost, love found, and it was funny as hell. Hailey the main character, was quite funny, and loved a good verbal sparring session, she is very quick witted, and the things she comes out with, are just funny (it's all in good fun). She mostly verbally spares with Dacea. I found myself laughing out loud while reading this book.

Maybe i loved it so much because it was my first book about dragons that i've ever read. Ya, shame on me, but it never caught my eye this type of books. Until now.

Fist of all, i loved it because it was unique in his story. And i like to read unique, different storys.

Hailey Holloway stumbles upon two dragons one night. Before she realizes it she invited the soul of one into her. That soul was a red dragon named Dacea. She wakes up the next morning realizing that she can hear the dragon’s voice inside of her head. She believes herself to be crazy because of the voice.
Once I picked up the book I had a hard time putting it down. The characters and the supernatural world that was created was fantastic and put together very well. The plot was well decided and we

“Spark” was a good book. It was well-written and easy-to-read. The author does a great job of building the world of the paranormal. We had dragons, witches, muses, and even bigfoot is real in this world. I liked the encyclopedia of paranormal creatures that Hailey read to learn more about this new world.

This is a funny new twist on dragon shifters. I love dragon shifter paranormal books and this one, isn't like one I have read before.

Hailey is the main female character in this book. I have to say that I love her snarky personality. She has her dorky moments, as well. But that's another reason to love her. Her comebacks had me laughing out loud throughout the story. What's not to love about a charcter that thinks she is going crazy because she has a dragon living in her head?

I got this book through First Reads.

I really enjoyed the concept of the story- there aren't a lot of books where the main supernatural character is a dragon or the supporting supernatural character is a Muse! The world-building is fun with no one specific culture's mythological base, instead having lots of different creatures. Most of the dialogue flows really well and I definitely laughed out loud at some of Hailey's creative adjectives. It was nice that characters like Darby, Silas

Hailey was walking through the park & saw two dragons fighting. One was injured and turned into a handsome man. She went to give the comfort during his death but something happened. She woke up with him in her head. After ignoring him for a while and arguing with him after that she begins to understand she's in danger and has to help free him from her mind.

Poor Hailey Holloway is trying to convince herself she isn't crazy...and the decidedly male voice in her head isn't helping!

I enjoyed this debut novel from new author K.C. Stewart. Hailey finds her courage through out this book, and it is good to see. References to LOTR, everyone's favorite Time Lord, and even the Magic School Bus make this a fun, adventurous read. The ending doesn't leaving you hanging (thankfully), but still leaves you wondering what happens next, because, HELLO, s

I'm a huge fan of fantasy books however usually not ones that take place in the present because they are never done right in my opinion. From the get go I was drawn in and could not stop reading. Every page turn was a squeak of anticipation and I was getting just as frustrated as some of the characters, even more so at times! I adore dragons and did not know a thing about the book until I started to read it, which I've never done before. So I'm very very happy to have read this book and will be ...more
