When William's butler Kevin abruptly takes over as campus pastor, William can't understand why he's suddenly given the cold shoulder. Meanwhile, a political conspiracy is brewing, and the Church is rallying to uncover the demonic possession of a member of the British government. When William stumbles upon a secret government conclave, all Hell breaks loose! With the battle for William's soul heating up between the forces of good and evil, can William hope to live a normal life?
The art is, as always, very defined and gorgeous. Also, the plot is getting more and more exciting, I practically read the whole volume in one breath. To be honest, though, I'd like to remove half a star because all the confusion and the introduction of new characters even reached the point of actually annoying me. However, I am not quite certain whether this is meant to be, or not, therefore I hope a lot of questions will be solved in the next two or three volumes.
Nevertheless, I have to admit that I really like Camio, one of the new characters, hopefully we'll get to know him better. The "news" about Kevin are also quite intriguing. I remember laughing out loud when reading that part. Poor William! x)
The story is a little too all over the place and the introduction of a new character nearly every chapter makes it even more unfocused or confusing for the reader. There's some really interesting historical and religious mysticism incorporated here.
One of the biggest key pieces of Volume 3 is the revelation of Camio being another of Solomon’s and thus William’s demon pillars. While all the other demons before Camio have been more than a little clingy to William. Camio is quite happy to keep his distance from William.
Making it seem very interesting and if not a little surprising. With Volume 3, have now become as curious as ever to who Solomon was and what he had planned. He surely left some legacy for his descendants or should I say incarnations but we are still not privy to that. It doesn’t help that Solomon is a rather charismatic character as seen so far in the manga.
The story is fantastic, but the art was seriously lacking for a good portion of this volume. It was pretty disappointing. It definitely picked back up towards the end. I'm not sure what happened in the middle there art wise.
Keeping track of what was going on in this one was a little difficult - both the specifics of the demon politics and who was saying what, on occasion. I'm also now wondering if Kevin is of the opposite faction I thought he was before.
Beelzebuth is after William’s soul and is using the father of one of the students to do his betting. The angels are also interfering. Kevin, the butler is the new pastor at school but seems to have ulterior motives. Once again, there is new demonic characters that are introduce. The plot thickens since they are all candidates for the representative King of Hell. I love all the little scenes between William & Dantalion. Not sure what the connection between those two is but I cannot wait to find out.
This volume was pretty interesting, when William reflects on his personal history with Kevin, it provided insight into why he was feeling such angst over where they stood currently. We also get to see more demons coming after William, more of Dante (who cleans up nicely in his human form 😏) swooping in to rescue him, and later on we're introduced to Camio. For that last reason, in particular, I'd say there were some profound plot developments in this volume that makes it worth reading. Despite that, I am enjoying this series pretty consistently and nothing particularly stuck out to me as noteworthy 🤷♂️ It is, however, still essential.

The pattern of William being attacked and Dantalion trying to help in exchange for being elected continues (and every time William gets saved from deciding anything). We have a few mystery appearances (like that one winged angel at the start) and new demons (like Eligos) but nothing that I felt was very plot oriented. Except the very end. It looks like it's time for the Sabbath and something BIG is going to happen in the next volume!
So far this volume felt the most filler-esque but also it was fun stuff. And So Many Swoon Worthy Moments!! God, why is Dantalion so handsome?!
