Deadly Bloodlines is my second book by the talented Caribbean author Elke Feuer. Take one gorgeous Caymanian murder investigator with a haunting curse, two police detectives that are obsessed with her and one who is hiding a very dark secret. Her mother was a serial killer on Grand Cayman and some say Angel may be following in her footsteps when a series of copycat killings emerge on the island. I couldn’t put this one down! All through the book the reader is trying to solve this mystery. I love ...more

"Deadly Bloodlines" is a fast paced, intense who dun nit with angsty, messed up characters. Elke does a fabulous job of disguising the bad guy, and you never know who it is until the end. Angel Mason the main character comes across as unlikeable at times, and as you get into the story, the reason she is so hard becomes clear and understandable. Bren McDougal, a friend and lover from Angel's past is absolutely delicious!!! He sticks by her, is willing to help her regardless of her attitud

Elke Feuer created a character that was undeniably having a very difficult life, as a child and even now, as an adult about to turn 30. Angel Mason is a very strong female, carrying serious baggage her entire life. Her mother, Meredith Mason was a convicted Serial Killer in Cayman; and sentenced to a prison in England because Cayman did not have the proper facilities for criminals with mental disorders. Meredith was convicted and sent away when Angel was 10 years old. Angel then went to live wit ...more

Who doesn’t like a good Caribbean mystery? Deadly Bloodlines kept me entertained with its many twist and turns. Angel Mason learned the hard way that the past always catches up with you when someone starts killing people just like her mother used to. A female serial killer… brilliant! Is Angel following her mother’s footsteps? But what are they exactly? Enters Dr. Bren McDougal, hot, smart, Scottish, in love with Angel… What could go wrong?

This is an unusual crime novel. The twists and turns kept me intrigued from the first sentence to the last sentence. The fact that there is not one but two serial killers and one more person who fears they may be a serial killer made it absolutely amazing. I could not stop myself from guessing who the real killer was. I am glad to say that I was wrong for most of the book and surprised at who the actual serial killer turned out to be.

The romance was secondary, but yet an important part of the s

OMG!!!! this story is amazing, it kept me on my toes the entire time. This is the story of Inspector Angel Mason, there was a serial killer running around her home on the Cayman Islands that killer was her mother who was 'cursed'. That happened 20 years ago and now Angel has to deal with it all over again, because someone is copying her mother's murders to the T, the killer is also stalking Angel unbeknown to her. To help out with the investigation Captain Williams calls in Professor Bren MacDou ...more

From the opening sentence of her novel to the last sentence Elke Feuer’s Deadly Bloodlines held my interest. This is an unusual twist of the crime novel dealing with serial killers. Here we have inspector Angel Mason who suspects she might be a serial killer. The book is an excellent analysis of inside a disturbed mind. The plot is complex with well developed characters who all have motives in either wanting Angel found guilty of past murders or want to help her, sometimes too much. Weaved in am ...more

Elke Feuer delivers a captivating story! I especially enjoyed the descriptive language she used throughout the book--it definitely made you "see" the story while reading. The characters were very relatable, especially the main character, Angel. I loved that she was so flawed, yet so strong on the outside. The romance between Angel and Bren was sweet and sexy, with enough tension to keep it interesting.

The way the author wove the romance and mystery plot together was excellent. I thought the ba

This book was a great read, and right up my street with the right amount of mystery and suspense that really managed to mess with my head while I was trying to figure out who was behind of everything. The romance made it a lighter read in some parts and the chemistry between Angel and her long lost lover was just crazy, and I mean that in a good way! Ms. Feuer described everything so vividly that I felt like I was right there with them sometimes, I would recommend this book to everyone who is lo ...more

This book holds a unique story line about a police woman who is haunted by her past. Her mother is a murderer who is locked away, and now the family curse has turned to her. The story was fast paced, I guessed immediately who was behind all the trouble, but still enjoyed the book. If your a fan of murder mystery, suspense, action and a touch of romance this book will be for you. Overall great read, can't wait to read more from this author. ...more

I received a review copy

Whew, what a read! I love a good mystery, and this one was really quite a warped story, and so hard to put down. There were a few times I thought I had the plot figured out, but once we got to the end, I saw how wrong I really was! There is a ton of drama, plenty of suspense, and I enjoyed this from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more from Elke Feuer!

Elke was born and raised on Grand Cayman, but lives in Florida with her two kids who keep her entertained with their silly wit.

She stumbled into writing romantic suspense because of her fascination with serial killers, but also writes other genres because characters keep telling her their stories.

When not writing, she's loves helping other fiction writers ditch their fear and create their dream wr
