I loved Darius I really did, "right now, there wasn't a thing he liked. Okay, maybe a little thing, he mused, looking forward to confronting the feisty woman upstairs." He also doesn't like other men touching his woman, "he moved toward her like a wild beast. A twinge of fear spiraled through her entire body. There was something fierce and untamed about him as he advanced. She tried again to grab the sheet before her fingers could make contact with it, he yanked it out of her grasp. "You won't b ...more

Well, this was a pretty good read. The last book I had read that had a sexual brute as the hero, he bugged me and I couldn't figure out how the heroine fell for him. Not so this time. Darius was extremely controlling but the way he did it didn't bother me.

Kassandra's life has been turned upside down in less than a day. Getting home drunk from celebrating her 25th birthday with her friends, she unknowingly releases Darius from an ancient book he was sealed within. Darius is a titan prince who ha

Bliss (Titan Series #1) by Renee Field is a 2014 independent publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. ( Via the author and Storyfinds and Netgalley)
Kassandra frees Darius from the book he has been trapped inside of for the past decade. It's a mystery to Darius how this human managed that, but now that he is free, he must return to his kingdom to find a way to save his people from a terrible plague. His mother and twin brother is inflicted with the disease

This paranormal fantasy is a riveting and magical read that keeps readers on their toes. On a deadly time crunch Darius is forced to bring Kassandra along on his quest to save his undersea kingdom from a deadly plague. *** I have received an ARC via NetGalley ***

Throw in Mythical creatures, Gods, Legends, smoking hot scenes and a complex plot - and you get Bliss, the first book in the Titan Series.
The story is much more complex than the cover reveals, with many characters (besides Kassandra and Darius) playing important roles.
And while I enjoyed the book, I thought that the solution for the plague (which haunted Darius' kingdom) a bit anti climatic, considering how the story was built up I expected something m

Wow, what can I say? It has been such a long time since I have read a book dealing with goddess/gods and myths. This kind of had a Gene Showalter/ P.C. Cast vibe that I really enjoyed. It was actually really fun but the he-man act from the hero was really annoying at times. Other than that it was a pretty good read.

I really enjoyed the story of merpeople and the environment they lived in. This was the first book for me and I'm not sorry I started with it. I didn't like the dominant take control of the other person but the caring compassionate side won me over. This is a story I wouldn't mind going back for.

For me the story fell flat, but the writing is good and I can see how this can be a great series for others.
