This is my first time reading a book written by Samuel Rodríguez. I received "Fresh Oil, Holy Fire, New Wine" for free from TBN and I was anxious to read it. (Though I received a complimentary copy, it in no way influenced my opinion of the book).
"Because you are anointed by the Holy Spirit and abide in His power, God works through you to change the world" (pg. 174).
The Foreword is written by Jentezen Franklin.
At the end of every chapter are questions to answer and to reflect as well as a Prayer.
"The Holy Spirit is your GPS who guides you" (pg. 198).
The author shares his Pentecostal beliefs.
"You are no longer waiting for a miracle- there's a miracle waiting for you!" (pg.158).
▶Part One. Head: Informed by the Spirit
▶Part Two. Heart: Inspired by the Spirit
▶Part Three. Hand: Imparted by the Spirit
"Still today, there is nothing more powerful than, "Thus saith the Lord!" (pg. 131).
The author shares personal experiences, an abundance of bible verses, historical accounts, pop culture references, and he dives into the details and often coincidental (or similar) moments found in Scripture. He shares who the Holy Spirit is and what He is *not* (pg. 105).
"The Spirit of God is always at work- in us, through us, around us, beyond us" (pg. 111).
Samuel Rodríguez tells us to... Wait for Your Suddenly (pg. 80), to Sing a New Song (pg. 102) and to choose Peace and not Panic (pg. 118).
"Your only answer can be Jesus" (pg. 115).
▶ Fresh Oil. An anointing oil which symbolizes God's presence, power and purpose on people and places set apart as holy and chosen (pg. 21).
▶ Holy Fire. The unlimited, unquenchable power of the Holy Spirit (pg. 24).
▶ New Wine, New Life (pg. 171).
