I really enjoyed the last book Serving the Billionaire and I loved Regan and Carter so I couldn't wait to continue their story. The last book finished with the happy ending of them dating, so although I couldn't wait to find out what this book had in store for them it was with a little trepidation that I actually started reading, Regan and Carter have very strong feeling for one another but will they be strong enough to withstand the vast difference in their lifestyles, their pasts, their friends and families. Regan more than Carter struggles with this and to her at times it seems insurmountable but her attraction to him is so strong she can't let him go.
This is a much different book to the first where their attraction is so new and fresh and well written it made me shiver, in this book they're in the relationship and trying to make it work, as all couples do they have to learn about each other and try to make it through both the good and the bad.
I enjoyed this book and was really surprised it was free I fully expected to have to pay for the second book which I would have done, I personally don't think it's quite as good as the last one but that could just be the nature of it, I think it's probably easier to write about first meetings and the slow shimmer of attraction as it builds.

Continuation of Regan and Carter's relationship.
Plenty of ups and down with drama of family friends and such. Of course plenty of sex. These two can't keep there hands off each other but insecrities drive these two apart for a bit. Don't fret that doesn't last long and it does end happily.
This is told in two POV's. Part 1 is in Regans and part 2 is Carters.
I lost my notes but when I find them I hope to rewrite this review, but for now those are the bare bones that I can pinpoint off the top of my head.

It's a good story, if lacking the heat and freshness of the first one. I enjoyed it, but at one point, I was annoyed with Regan's moaning. Still, it was good to see them work through their problems.

This was a free Kindle book. In the past I have read some free books, and I was left disappointed because they were so short. That is not the case with this book. This actually had two books in one. The first book was done with Regan telling the story. The second book picks up from the end of the first one, but with Carter in first person. It had a sweet story line. I would list this book as a romance, suspense, and an erotica. Yes this book got HOT and STEAMY.
From reading the other reviews this book is part of a series. It may be the second, in the series, but it makes a good stand alone. This was the first book I read in the series, and was not left confused. I had no idea it was a series till I finished the book, and read the reviews.

Her small town had not changed at all. It was just as she remembered it. It was almost like she had never left. Her insecurity's hit her full force. Regan didn't think she was good enough for Carter. I was impressed as the story went along, How Regan changed, and grew. Carter also did a lot of changing.
My very favorite part of the whole book is - "I don't want to wake up one day and realize that I'm old and I've spent my entire life being afraid to take the chance to let someone in. There's no point to life without love."

I'm not one who likes to write a full review on a book I did DNF, but I stopped reading at 50% on my kindle. I tried to finish but I couldn't. Therefore, this review will be based on what I read. In the beginning, I thought to myself, why didn't the author write how the relationship between Regan and Carter started. It was being described and we weren't reading about it. So, I stopped reading, researched and found out, The Billionaire's Embrace is a continuation and it is book 2.
As I continue to read , the relationship between Regan and Carter felt plain, in the sense where I didn't feel excitement. Cater's presence did not do it for me, he didn't make my heart beat fast, he didn't give me shivers and he didn't make me feel excited. Carter's world wasn't Regan's world. I wanted to take the journey with Regan as she becomes apart of Cater's world. I know as readers, we all have different taste, but this was not so much my taste and could be someone else's.
Overall, I DNF, I found it sort of ok and thought the characters could be a bit more alive, dominate and commanding to bring out the read more.

I liked the first book which the author offered for free so it was a surprise to see this second and longer book also offered for free so thank you to the author for that.
I like this authors writing style. This book starts when Carter and Regan have been dating for a month. They don't see each other every day due to work etc. Carter is still dominating Regan in the bedroom and she's still enjoying it (including some anal play). What Regan is not enjoying is the difference in their lifestyles. She's insecure about whether she fits into Carter's world. When she meets his mother and attends a charity ball with Carter the insecurities build. The first half of the book is told from Regan's POV. Her half ends after she is called home to a family funeral and she meets her childhood sweetheart again. Regan makes a decision about herself and Carter.
The second half of the book is told from Carter's POV and I wasn't sure I liked the direction it took. I also wasn't sure if the author had the male POV quite right. Is this book a romance or an erotic novel? It's a mixture of the two. We have Carter being dominant in the bedroom but in everyday life, he's quite sweet and love sick.
There were some parts of the storyline I didn't feel were expanded on or explained enough and I struggled with my star rating for this book but because both books have been offered for free and because I like the authors writing style and did enjoy the journey of Regan and Carter, I am giving it 4 stars.
I will read more from this author.

I continued the story because it was left at a cliffhanger but I'll say that at least this part was much better than the previous one.
First of all I liked how it was more told about the characters. We get the glimpse of Regan's culture and hey she thought she wasn't good enough (consistent thought in her mind). I didn't really know why she made the haste decision she made of breaking it up with Carter but liked how she figures it out later and explained.
The second part(Carter's POV) was absurd in the beginning wmwith him being shown as a whimpy man who couldn't take a breakup nicely and took to drinking and partying. Later on we notice how he actually feels behind the cool and calm exterior he proposes.
It was a sweet book. The female got her boldness back and aprt from harassing herself she was a nobody tried to work on herself.

Fun romance read. Short and basically around the relationship kinda. What happened when Reagan met Christina? Just seemed everyone else fell to the wayside. I understand that this is about them but the introduction with Sofie and Ben and their careers then they drop out. Did they ever go to the restaurant to see the lady that taught him how to cook? Did everything get settled with her family as she hadn't spoken to them for so long?

Cute Sequel
Wasn’t sure about buying this as I normally stick to Kindle Unlimited but I’m glad I did! It’s a cute story. Easy quick novella like the first book. I like that this one had his POV. The spicy scenes were a good 3.5-4 🌶️. The plot was cute and fun. While there was heartache it had a HEA.
The editing needs work. A lot of grammar and spelling mistakes and that bothers me but not enough to stop reading.

4.3 Stars!!!
This was really good. It is the continuation of the story from book 1 in the series. Basically, a naive and innocent girl, away from home, down on her luck goes to work at a gentleman's high class strip/sex club as a cocktail waitress. She is picked out by one billionaire to help serve (as a cocktail waitress) at his private business parties. When she refuses to do some things he asks her he starts to look at her differently. That is basically book 1.
This picks up where that left off and is the story of their relationship. She is of a Filipino background and hiding her past. She is not accepted by his mother and friends. She feels that she is not in the same league as him socially and that she is not a good match for him. Her insecurities breed doubt, mistrust and this puts a stress on their relationship. Physically and emotionally they are addicted to one another; And as they spend more time together and get to know each other, they grow closer to one another and fall in love.
I really enjoyed this story. I think so many of us can feel in adequate in relationships and this fear can drive us to make decisions about our life which are not healthy for us....and can hurt other people. This was a very good story with a relationship which grew over time....not like so many we read about where the romantic relationship is rushed. Yes, they were instantly attracted to one another but it brewed and grew over time. I appreciate that as I criticize alot of books for this short coming.

For me the second book was far better than the first thus deserving of 5 stars.
At the start of this book I truly hated Regan because she was such a downer.
“I knew the job wouldn’t last—I would mess up eventually, and get fired, or they would go out of business, or the building would burn down in a fire.”
“Maybe Carter could loan me something. I was sure he had things stashed in his closet that had been left by prior girlfriends or one-night stands.”
“That was the problem with Carter: my brain told me that it couldn’t last, that it would end in sorrow and suffering, but my heart wanted him so much that it bloomed in my chest, an extravagant flower, with the slightest provocation."
Yet through it all as much as I hated her I grew to understand her and saw where she was coming from. Both Regan and Carter on some level felt that “Everyone left me eventually.” Regan at that time didn't see that though...she wasn't allowing herself to see past Carter being a CEO or having money.
I'm glad that Carter was a bit of a “... glutton for punishment. Why stop twisting the knife when I had an opportunity to cause myself further emotional agony?” If he were not a glutton he would have never gone after her twice.
Overall it was a beautiful story...my only disappointment was that the end seemed a bit rushed.

I fell in love with Regan and Carter’s story in “Serving the Billionaire”, but it took me so long to read the next book. For no other reason then I didn’t want their HEA to end or be disturbed. As I swiped through my TBR folder on my kindle yesterday (4/16/15), I knew it was time to revisit their love story. I am glad I did.
Bec Linder did not disappoint me as I read on; she must have extensive knowledge of our Filipino culture or a friend that is Filipino because she hit the mark on traditional practices, family obligations and ways of first generation immigrants. I was thrilled when I read it. That’s not the reason why I gave her 5 Stars.
I enjoyed the switch in character monologue. I enjoyed Carter’s point of view. Seeing his pain and seeing why his heart ass devoted to loving Regan. I sympathized with Regan’s internal struggle with cultural differences. I knew the feelings she felt and the heartache.

I fell in love with the first book.
It saddens me to have to say that I found this book to be such a let down. Towards the end it all seemed to be a little bit rushed and if I were to be quite honest I didn't know when I had reached the height of the drama in this short read because there wasn't really much of any drama.
I usually love books that don't have too much going on and focus more on the romantic side of things but I felt a yearning for something to happen towards the middle and was left disappointed. I even re-read it to make sure I had not missed anything.
All that being said I still liked it none the less. It wasn't the worse thing I've ever read but it didn't get me to where I wanted to be emotionally. I felt I became more detached from the characters when I should have been growing closer to them.
I really, really wanted to love this one. I tried and failed. I have come to terms the fact that Carter Sutton is just not meant to play on my dreams at night.
Until the next gorgeous billionaire, I bid you fare well Silver Cross Club.

I enjoyed this book better than the first. It is well written and easy to read, but I could not see the relevance of why carter need to trap Hacket and then going to court/ to to the senate, I kept waiting for something sinister to occurred and it never did.
Then Carter and Regan's relationship develops yet again and it just seems to end abruptly, just like the proposal. It all comes quickly and no real fanfare...I just felt the book lacked that little bit of something.
I did enjoy Regan going to to her family, and the breakup( again..so predicable). I
loved the different points of view from both character's.i l enjoyed getting Carters point of view, it was nice to see how he thought and this view gave us an insight into why he did certain things...like the first meeting with his mother..why he hadn't noticed how off hand she had been...typical guy!

This is the third book I've read of Bec Linder and I've loved all three. This serious is great I read book one in 3 hrs and book two in 2 hrs in a day so five hours straight reading book 1 and 2 that's how good it was. I love me some Carter he seems so yummy and just plain old amazing man who loves his mother how can you go wrong, don't forget the billionaire aspect. I love Regan I love how independent she is but I got mad she ran scared after going to California. The both have a lot of insecurities and can't blame them.
This book made me super hottt , laughed, and shed a tears and exactly what you want. Amazing job to Bec Linder.

very good & very steamy!!! The conclusion of Carter & Regan's story is great it tells of the major differences between them & the fear of not fitting into Carter's life that Regan fears. We also follow Regan through a trip down memory lane when she has to go home for a funeral, were she learns some truths that leave her changed. This book is set in two chapters in which one we hear Regan's side of the story & the other we hear Carter's side of the next phase in their lives. This book also shows us the changes in each person when they both realize that the feelings they have for each other are stronger than they thought.

This is book 2 in the Silver Cross Club series that continues with Regan and Carter from book 1 so it is necessary to start with the first book.
I was once again captivated from page one until page 300+ I could not put it down. Regan and Carter are both great characters that are easy to relate too. What I liked the most and what I think makes this story stand out is that these two characters come from fundamentally different backgrounds and the story shows the struggle of compromise.
One situation that I think was breezed over where a climatic situation really could have been, but the way it was done was really well rounded at the end.

The Billionaire's Embrace is just what Regan needs from Carter. When they meet she is a cocktail waitress and he is a billionaire client; they start to date and a romantic relationship develops.
Family differences cause insecurities to develop first from Carter's mother when she insults Regan and then when Regan returns to California for the Filipino Traditional Wake and funeral for her Grandmother. The character growth, how they face the cultural differences and learn to accept each other and grow together makes The Billionaire's Embrace an excellent love story.

2-1/2 stars - a lot of meandering around as Regan and Carter try and figure out if they're in a relationship and what kind of relationship it is, given he's From Money and she's a Filipino girl from the wrong side of the tracks. I finished this book largely by skimming, and can't say it left much of an impression....

Unfortunately I am a bit disappointed with this second and final book in Regan and Carter's story. The first one was shorter and better than the long drawn out and quite boring second instalment. I hate feeling let down after reading a story after such a promising start. Not sure I'd bother with this author's work again.

This book was good. I didn't like how they jumped several years to regan graduation and past the weeding. I wish there was a third book that gave the details on the weeding and Her pregnancy. I wanted to know more. I wanted to read more about there relationship after the engagement. But it was a good read and only took me one day to finish.

I loved this book!
I loved the first installment too but this tied everything up so nicely. I love romance with just the right amount of conflict and a lot of great hot sex to keep the pages turning.
I hope to see more from this author.

Great ending of a love story
this was a beautiful ending to a great love story.
he is wealthy and afraid of rejection.
she is not wealthy but also afraid of being accepted; and fearing rejection.
both of them not realizing that is what makes the love connection perfect.

Since the first book was so short it was nice to get a full story for Carter and Regan. Great read!

Loved the book. Could not put it down. Never heard of this author but love her work. Would recommend this book who loves IR reads.
