☀︎ Thank you Z Kids and NetGallery for this ARC! ☀︎

When I got the email approval for this ARC I ran to my phone for the download. Not even joking. I’m always looking for strategies to help my son (3) cope with the world, and this workbook gives some great tips; I’m very excited for my family to utilize them! Technically this book seems geared toward kids in the 5+ age range, but the activities are so universal that I don’t foresee problems tweaking them for a younger child.

The chapters in this are fantastic! Your child (and you) are able to read through the lessons and then do the matching “homework.”I’m making it sound like school, but the topics are actually kept to a reasonable length. All the activity suggestions use readily available craft supplies, and that made me so happy I could cry. If I had a dollar for every children’s book I’ve bought that listed expensive, or hard to find materials, I would probably have… $10 (a rich woman I would be). So really and truly, I bow down and thank you Amanda Robinson.

I adore that this book starts out with an essential run down of how the child is feeling. This is so critical, and most children (like my son) know they feel feelings, but aren’t sure how to identify them. I really enjoyed the coloring and picture suggestions; it felt very ‘choose your own adventure.’

I really can’t say enough good things about this! The only negative I have is that the ARC is digital, when it’s meant to be written in…because it’s a workbook. So if given the option, I would recommend purchasing a physical copy! I can’t wait to get my hands on one; I truly believe this could be game-changing for a lot of families!

A terrific resource with 50 helpful exercises for highly sensitive children and their parents. I could have used this book as a child and still learned a great deal from it as an adult. Recommended!

I work with lots of children, so I’m always on the lookout for resources like this to be able to reference. I’m also always surprised when they end up impacting me in the meantime. Before reading this, I wasn’t exactly familiar with Highly Sensitive Children and their struggles. I wonder if an earlier understanding would have been helpful to me,,,or perhaps, more accrately, my parents.
I can speak from personal experience that these 50 exercises are genuinely helpful, and not just for HSCs!

The Highly Sensitive Child’s Workbook by Amanda Robinson is a valuable resource designed to help children understand and manage their emotions. The workbook is filled with practical exercises, coping strategies, and supportive advice, making it an excellent tool for both children and their families.

The workbook is highly engaging, with a variety of activities and exercises that keep children interested and involved. The interactive nature of the workbook helps children to actively participate in their emotional growth, making the learning process enjoyable and effective.

As a parent, I would absolutely recommend this workbook designed for highly sensitive children. My son and my daughter can be sensitive and emotional with different issues that arise in their daily life. I am always looking for different ways to allow them to express himself in healthy ways and to help them deal with his emotions better. I really needed ideas on how to help them because what I was doing was not working and we just ended up being frustrated at each others. This is a great resource for highly sensitive children and their families.

This is such a great tool for families who may need this workbook and can really find some beneficial activities. This workbook is filled with many great activities. This book gives great activities for highly sensitive children and their families. I found it very kid friendly and approachable. I would recommend this for children and their families, or for therapists and counselors who work with children.

Thank you to NetGallery and Z Kids for the temporary ARC that I received in return for my honest review.

Kids Feel Less Overwhelmed, Communicate Their Needs, and Thrive
My son can be sensitive and emotional with different issues that arise in her daily life. I am always looking for different ways to allow him to express himself in healthy ways and to help him deal with his emotions better. One day while I was on the internet I cam across this book and decided I wanted to give it a try with him to see if it would help. When I received the book, I decided to go through page by page to explore the information and fill-ins and was very impressed. The book is set up to allow a child to go through at their own pace providing thought provoking questions and fill ins along with text. The book is geared for children ages six and up and is rather straightforward in its approach to help. I have been working with my son going through this book a little at a time, so he doesn’t get overwhelmed. We go though a portion together and talk a little bit about it and then I leave him alone so he can work on the section we talked about. The book has areas that work with art, games and role playing to teach different skills for the child’s ups and downs which I think will help my son a lot.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.

This is another book that I wish had been around when I was a child, It would've been very helpful to me because I grew up with multiple health issues and disabilities. Even as an adult, I agreed and resonated with some of the topics discussed in this book. I encourage every parent and teacher to buy this book and read it to children. I believe it will helo them alot.

I am so excited about this book and its endless possibilities. This workbook is for children who struggle with being overwhelmed and anxious at times. Some children, like my son, are highly sensitive children. They struggle at times to understand their emotions and how to express themselves in a positive way. This wonderful book was created by a licensed child therapist and is packed full of amazing exercises that are designed to help children develop the skills they need to better understand and work through emotions. This is the perfect opportunity for families to work together to find ways to understand these powerful emotions.
I love the easy to understand activities. The activities were so flexible that I am able to work with them and help my son who is almost 5 in a fun and exciting way. I love this as a parent to easily understand how I can help him. Every family can use this book, emotions are a part of all of our lives. I was lucky enough to review this as an ebook ARC but we are buying a copy for us and friends too.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a digital review copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
This is a great workbook for kids and if they developed a companion one for adults to do alongside their kiddos, I wouldn't be mad. My 8 year old was a little skeptical at first because he thought it would be actual work like school, but he quickly got on board when he recognized that he enjoyed the activities. We both learned a lot and since we read it as an ebook. Identifying feelings and challenging negativity is super important for kids to be able to do. I will definitely be seeking this out in paper format. Loved the references at the back of the book. I've read Dr. Elaine Aron's work and I think this is a great compliment to working with your child if they are highly sensitive.

This book. WOW. This book hit very close to home as someone with a deep love and several degrees in psychology, raising littles who feel safe in their own skin, and having a daughter who is a HSC. I received this book as an E- ARC, and now can hardly stand the wait until it comes out and I have access to it so I can use and apply this with my child. It is affirming, and engaging, as well as a wonderful activity to do together as grownup and kiddo. Thank you for taking the time to bring this very needed book into the world. <3

The illustrations and activities were so well done.
I definitely see the benefit in many of the activities and look forward to using them with my own HSP child.
Beautiful book, and such an important and significant message.
