The Caversham Chronicles #3
Well I have to say that author Sandy Raven has a gift for creating female characters that are exceedingly selfish and immature. . The sad thing is, Sarah, the leading character of this book is 20. She's not a teenager anymore, yet bad decision after bad decision after bad decision, all with the selfish notion that she deserves an adventure before he enters spinster hood. In doing so she inadvertently alters the life of her brother's best friend. I found that quite ofte

This book starts off with a lot of promise, but sort of becomes meh towards the end of the story.

Taking place several years after the end of the second The Caversham Chronicles book, Sarah, the youngest sister in the series, is now 21 and hopes to find adventure more than a husband. She plans to stow away on her brother (by marriage), Lucky's boat as he sets out on a race in hopes that she may find the freedom and excitement she dreams of. Unfortunately, she finds herself in the hands of Ian Ro

VERY SAD AND DISAPPOINTING!!

I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED!! In the story "Loving Sarah" featuring Lady Sarah Halden the sister of the Duke of Caversham and Ian Mackeever heir to his grandfather the Earl Mackeevers. This is s short review as I am very unhappy with a story that started out strong, sensual and adventurous and went to depressing in a little over half way around the 60% read mark. Sarah miscarrying her twin son and heirs to the Mackeevers Earldom was just depressing an unworthy of this ser

The idea of a yacht race is exciting, however, the romance that has the potential to be very hot and sexy is dull and uninspired.

Not very pleasant reading

Penetration up the rear when one of the parties has expressed reluctance, and menstrual blood streaked on thighs? I gave up at that point. Human bodies are undeniably messy but I don't pay to read about such things for pleasure. This book made me uncomfortable

A sensual romance

in which the main characters experience great adventure, forgiveness, compassion, tragedy, unexpected revelations, reconciliation, and grow up with each other. I look forward to reading the next chronicle.

Picture this: Liverpool, June 1835. Lady Sarah Eilean Halden, aged twenty-one is in her third social season and her prospects of marriage are not promising. The cream of British society seems uninterested in her romantically. Financially is another matter as she is highly placed and commands a sizeable dowry. Sarah isn’t the most beautiful flower in the field but she is far from common. Her beauty comes primarily from within and bubbles to the service in her energy, imagination, daring and total ...more

Shelves: first-reads
Note: I received this book for free through Goodreads Firstreads.

Of all the books so far in this series, I felt that this one was the most realistic in that there was some tragedy before the halt ending could occur. I know that quite a few reviews were unhappy about the female lead's miscarriage closer to the end of the book but I think that that part of the story comes off as real and likely to happen in that time period. I also am not super upset about that part of the story because she is ab

In the third installment of her Caversham Chronicles series, Ms. Raven takes us on an adventure with another of Ren’s sisters, Sarah.

Sarah is feeling that life is passing her by and she craves some excitement before she permanently and purposely forces herself ‘on the shelf’.

Her plan to stowaway on Lucky’s ship goes terribly awry and she is looking at ruination to her name.

Ian Ross-Mackeever has big plans for himself and he’s mapped out his future that in no way includes marriage, nor children;

WOW! This book was not what I expected! I think I was expecting a kind of road trip romance and ended up with an almost epic romance. So much happened in this book, I don't even know where to begin my review!

Ian and Sarah were great characters - but they both had flaws. Ian had a habit of speaking without thinking first and he really doesn't understand women. And Sarah would hear his words and make sweeping assumptions without ever asking him for clarification, she is also a bit selfish

Can i give it more than 5 stars please!?!?! Like all of the Caversham books this one is amazing. I love the way Sandy gives each of the family members their own book and the family series to it.
A lot of reviews do not like the book because of the twins and Maura situation. Yes Maura should not be a replacement for the twins she lost and Sandy does not portray it that way. You have to remember she cannot remember a lot of the pregnancy and was unconscious for a week and never got to see her boys

I really enjoyed this book up until they docked after the race. Everything happened really quickly after that and I feel as though there weren't many deep details.
I really disliked how much Sarah interfered with Ian and his grandfather. She didn't know all the details but she felt as though she had to help fix

Loving Sarah is the third book in the Caversham Chronicles series. While this can be read as a stand alone, I strongly recommend the series be read in order, and not just for the back story information.

Ian and Sarah are both flawed and loveable characters, and there are some serious emotional ups and downs, which only makes the HEA at the end all the sweeter.

I have the rest of this series both in ebook and audio format. Ms Raven not only has the ability to weave a wonderful love story, but the

I received this book as an unexpected extra with a goodreads free giveaway (the prequel to the series). I'd like to say I greatly appreciated getting some of the books in the series and not just the first.

This was simply put an okay read. I liked Ian a lot, had trouble at times getting behind liking Sarah. Overall it was enjoyable, just got hung up about 3/4 along. I loved the part on the boat, Ian and Sarah's relationship changes then. I just had a hard time staying interested as the book went

The story was sweet and fun, and had some good twists and turns in it. I very much look forward to the next book in the series which is Lucky's story. ...more

Loving Sarah by Sandy Raven is an enjoyable read. Sandy has given us a well written story with great characters, humor, drama and a bit of spice. This was my first book by Sandy Raven, I look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Great!!! If you like to relax at the end of the day with that is factual (ship building) and fictional at the same time

The reading was easy and yet enlightening. Though fictional the novel offered good advice to every day life also, the morals were upheld

Well that was a strange read. I could say the plot and characters needed more development and work but there were a few other things that didn't meet up which confused and disappointed me. I think two stars is good enough for me.

Charming story

It was a sweet story of a young adventurous lady & a captain. This had a nice story that was less predictable than the first two stories of this series.

Sandy Raven has a husband who spoils her rotten, and kids that are just a hair’s breadth away from perfect. She’s addicted to House Hunters International and has never missed an episode, though she acknowledges that she could never live in most of those countries because the houses are just too small. She is also addicted to Starbucks’ Chai Latte, and never passes up an opportunity to have one.
