This book covers what a new puppy owner needs to know from preparing for a puppy, to healthcare, to basic training. There was a lot of information in the book, a lot to help people understand what is involved with a new puppy and how to get to grips with things. It was written in quite a dispassionate and characterless way which made it less interesting to read.
There seemed to be quite a heavy focus on everything that can go wrong when you have a puppy which I’d rather not obsess about until it’s happening. It was also very US focussed with a lot of specific information for dog owners in America which unfortunately didn’t transfer for UK ownership.
It wasn’t a bad book, there was lots of good information in it, it also wasn’t gripping. With so many puppy books on the market I think you’d easily find a more interesting one to read. There was a lot of good information in the book although nothing you couldn’t easily find on-line.

I cannot discourage more from reading a book that says a crate is the most important thing for a puppy! HORRIBLE!
