For someone who wants all the Disney Princess stories (up to Brave) in one place, this is a nice little collection. The organization of the tales is also unique, since they are centered around the introduction of certain characters rather than following a more traditional, linear plotline. This means that they are often "front-heavy" -- lots of details in the beginning of the stories where characters are being introduced, with rather rushed endings. If you didn't already know the stories, you may find yourself with a lot of questions -- but for anyone who has seen the movies even once, the stories provide a decent refresher or a new way to revisit them. The original illustrations are lovely, and the movie stills well-chosen with captions to help fill in gaps left by the story summaries. Although the character sidebars that are the book's selling point are fun, they unfortunately don't include any new or unique information that a diligent viewer of the films won't have already gleaned.

Best Disney princess book we've read. I got it from the library initially and then bought a copy. Many of the Disney princess books have sappy, boring, or empty stories about some silly thing that may or may not make much sense for the character. This one does a great job telling well-edited versions of the actual movies, with some interesting highlights/notes about the characters (and not just the main characters, either) in little side notes on every page. In some cases, we haven't watched the movie, and this makes it easy to talk about the plot and get to know the characters, which helped me gauge my daughter's readiness for those she hasn't seen. And best of all, this book has been terrifically motivating for my daughter to read, and she's quickly conquering the excellent vocabulary in this book. She reads the story in the middle of the pages and I read the character notes on the edges. I'd gladly give away the rest of her Disney princess books, but this one we both enjoy, and we've read (and re-read) some of it every night for a couple months so far!

With illustrations from the original animated movies, this is the perfect Disney princess guide. And it's not just a guide to the princesses - it includes supporting characters and tidbits about their personalities.

This was a very cute book. It retold a lot of the stories of the Disney princesses including some of the newer ones. Fans of Disney, especially the princess stories, will love this book. My only problems with it was that it did not always explain things well because it cut the stories so short and that some of the pictures were kind of blurry. Sometimes the character descriptions on the sides were kind of distracting to the story retelling but overall I really did enjoy this book and think fans of Disney will love it.

This was cute, but it unfortunately didn't provide any new information which is what I was hoping for.
