I am experienced, this improved me
I have been comfortable in the kitchen for over 30 years. So when a cookbook gives me some new ideas and introduces me to meta-recipes (will explain), I pay attention.
Most cookbooks tell you how to make a recipe, maybe even give you ideas of changes or variations. This one teaches you how to CREATE soups. It offers recipes but, as it does so, it gives techniques that allow you to make all manner of variations and create your own.
Hearty Soups gets a hearty 5 stars!

Very good collection of everyday soups. They are all simple and look delicious. Definitely a book to have, especially in winter.

Awesome slection
Easy, fast and everyday ingredients. The recipes look great even for beginner cooks. Soups are my favorite go to meal.

Recipes look good, but I wasn't interested in all recipes. Seems to be a lot of ingredients which I usually do not have on hand.

Lots of recipes
This book has lots of recipes. It starts off showing you how to make a cream base for your soups. Then there are many different cream should like celery, mushroom, etc. There are also various chili recipes, and chicken soup recipes. Many are simple enough for even the least of cooks to be able to manage. I look forward to trying some of these recipes out.

Not 5 stars due to sort of being plain and unoriginal. It's good and simple for hearty soups mostly with meat and gluten for anyone wondering that.

Fine way for beginners to learn!
I enjoyed the simplistic way each recipe was laid out and a picture was next to each soup. Very simple to follow and a perfect place for beginners to reference!

The title of this book got my attention and the recipes that I have tried so far were easy to follow and delicious. Also a good number of recipes that I look forward to trying.

'Tis the season for soup! Nothing like hot hearty soup during the cold months. Making it from scratch sounds better than opening a can any day. I saw several that appeal to me. Time to go make me some soup!
