The Dragon's Egg jumps right in to the action as soon as you open the book. Evan, Claire and Dunkle, the imp, are still in Sagaas looking for Alamaz and the missing relics. Everything starts coming together for me in this novel. The main characters, Evan and Claire are learning how to use their powers and spirit totems they gained in previous books. The worlds they encounter fascinated me, Camelot, Avalon, the Otherworld, meeting the Orchestra of the Dead so many worlds and magical beings and ...more

A review copy was provided for an honest review. The Dragon's Egg continues following the adventures of Evan and Claire across the mythical realms. It's the third novel in the Relics of Mysticus series, and definitely the most exciting installment yet. Middle grade readers will enjoy taking the journey and visiting the different mythology Bolton incorporates.

This time around the siblings dive into Arthurian myth and travel to the world of Medieval Legends. It's here they face off with new foes,

I really liked this book I think maybe better than the other 2 in the series :) Perhaps because I am sooo into Medieval times and mythology and this book was chock-full of adventure in this theme! The kids along with Chacon travel through Avalon and many other worlds to yet again save Sagaas from ruin.
This book also has a bit of love running through it as Claire finds more than just a friend in Chacon. This does not seem like the greatest idea to Evan, but he is being sidetracked by his own

I am warning you that I must be mysterious in this review, lest I give away too many details and spoil the whole kit and caboodle.

Evan and Claire are still in Sagaas, and they need to traverse into the realm of Avalon. Alamaz has escaped from the Dungeon of Dreadful Dreams and has enlisted Emryss (or known by Merlin to most) student, the Lady of the Lake, in his struggle for power. The Dragons Egg has gone missing, and Alamaz now controls the dangerous and deadly dragon Thrakon. Unfortunately

What a wonderful book! Fantastic cover and a story full of twists and trurns. Pace is very important in a book of this nature; thankfully, this book has it in spades! Teacher
We just looked at myths and legends in school and I spotted lots in this book. It was fun to read. I liked Evan and I

The Dragons Egg is the third installment of H.B. Boltons Relics of Mysticus and continues Evan and Claires search for Alamaz and the missing relics. This series is wonderful for young readers, the characters are funny and easy to follow, the plot is full of adventure and mishaps, and the overall story leaves just enough for you to want to read more and more about it.

In this book the kids are with Dunkle voyaging to find Merlin and the Dragon Egg in Avalon / The Dungeon of Dreadful Dreams. I

I had the opportunity to read all three books in the Relics of Mysticus series by H.B. Bolton. This is a fun, adventure series targeted towards middle school aged children, but, with an adventure and a quest like the one they embark upon and the fantasy of what they are learning, should appeal to all ages. If you enjoyed the subtle learning and fun adventure of the kids in Fablehaven by Brandon Mull, you will love this series! It takes you from mythology to mythology with a pair of siblings who ...more

"Doesn't this guy realize we're on an important quest?"

The Good

The characters were amazing, from the unicorn, to the faerie, to the wizard. They were all fantastic. The villain was really cool and he had an interesting background. The story was great too. Somehow nothing EVER seems to go right for Evan, and it's very entertaining. I loved the cliff-hanger ending. It makes me hungry for more.

The Bad

I still really miss Lazonia from The Serpent's Ring, but that's it. Bolton please bring her back

The Dragon's Egg by H.B. Bolton is the third book in the Relics of Mysticus series and it continues in the fast paced, high adventure style of the first two books. I could not put the book down when I started reading it.

The author is a great storyteller and has developed a tale which is both realistic and easy to follow. It will never let you catch your breath. Just when you think you got it another plot twist occurs and off you go again.

I really like H.B. Bolton's characters. They are very real

This is the best book of the series so far. It's exciting and action-packed from the get-go (but not too exciting for the little ones who may be reading it). I won't rehash what it's about, since you can learn that by reading the description, but I will say that fans of this series won't be disappointed. I especially like that we get to see more into Evan and Claire's family life ... as well as Dunkle's! I can't wait to see what Bolton has in store for us with the final two books of the series, ...more

This series just keeps getting better and better. The Characters have developed and grown on me. I simply love the different Realms of Sagaas; they are all so unique and wonderful in their own right. The ending was epic! It was also a cliffhanger.....when is the fourth book being released? *Sigh* The wait is going to be torturous, I just know it.

In Sagaas, pressing onward to the land of Avalon, Evan and Claire search for a missing relic. Trickery is all around them as they venture through the Dungeon of Dreadful Dreams that are growing more actual and worrisome. Will they find the Dragon Egg? This tale is about an enchanted realm filled with allures, fairies and folklores, including, Merlin, the Lady of the Lake and a dragon. There is also chemistry between Claire and Chacon. Something I love in fantasy stories. Book 3 in the Relics of ...more

A magical part of H.B. Boltons childhood was being swept into worlds of enchanting characters, fantastical creatures and extraordinary powerssimply by picking up a book. As a mother and a teacher, she was compelled to create imaginary worlds of her own in order to share them, not just with her children, but with all children. H.B. Bolton lives in Florida with her supportive husband and two highly ...more
