Disclaimer: This book was sent to me by the author, Bob Kat, for an honest review.

This is book 4 in the CUL8R series, and definitely my favorite one so far. I don’t know if it’s because of the paranormal themes, because it is set in the early 1900’s, or because our characters travel back in time to solve a mystery at a famous hotel…but MY OH MY did I read through this book like crazy.

In book 4, our group of time travelers decide to risk their lives again in the hopes of saving another life.

A Delightfully Suspenseful Read That Keep The Pages Turning Into the Wee Hours of the Morning!

Wow! I am impressed with this series! Add another Fan to the list! Although I must admit I am no YA…I love paranormal stories, and especially when combined with crime sleuthing! I have had an affinity for all things paranormal all my life, particularly with ghosts and spirit encounters using different types of communication. I dabbled in doing my own séances a few times as well. My other passion has
Kelly, Scott, Austin and Zoey have had other time travel adventures before Bob Kat’s teen novel, RIP, begins, but it’s easy to pick up the thread even if you’ve not ready the earlier novels (I hadn’t). The story starts with Kelly and Austin’s growing relationship, but Austin thinks Kelly’s with Scott and so... Very natural teen relationships ensue, from frantic drives across town to crowded beach for a fireworks party. These are very real and relatable teens, but they also have a secret Spirit ...more

Four high school teens; Kelly, Scott, Austin, and Zoey; find adventure using an invention that they have named the Spirit Radio. Kelly's aunt's historical house had been the resting place of this technological marvel that had been created by Thomas Edison and lost for years. With some modern tweaking by Scott, the group's technogeek, the radio now picks up voices of spirits which the group travel through time and space to try to help the spirits' ability to rest in peace.

Bob Kat does it again with RIP, the latest novel in the CUL8R (See You Later) series and adds another rollicking adventure to her time traveling paranormal series for young adults. The book draws you in from the first chapter, and even if you haven’t read the previous books you’ll find it easy to step into the flow of the story.

The bulk of the story takes place in 1911, when the four teens of the story travel pack in time to the Stanley Hotel in order to save a 4-year-old girl named Emma from

The book that I’m focusing on is only one of the entire series – book #4 entitled Rest in Peace (or RIP). The story as a whole is a fictional time-traveling tale scripted for young adults. RIP, the forth book of the series, picks up with our familiar characters (particularly Kelly and Austin! Do they get together? You’ll have to read and finally find out) but this time at the famous Stanley Hall. Our friends are on a journey to rescue a young girl from the most haunted halls in the

When I was younger I used to love The Secret Seven and The Famous Five books by Enid Blyton, this book reminds me so much of those , filled with so much adventure as a group of 4 teenagers set out on a mysteries journey as they travel back in time to save a young girl named Emma.

What really set’s this apart is the wonderful scenery descriptions the author has done such a great job of taking you with him as he sets each scene to perfection which happens to be on this occasion one of the most

What happens when a group of four teenagers find a way to travel through time? You get an adventure where mysteries get solved. The group consists of Austin, Kelly, Zoey, and Scott. I really like the characters in this book mainly because they are smart and resourceful kids. In this book they travel back to the early 1900’s in Colorado. They meet some pretty interesting folks along the way while they work at a resort for the wealthy. And they are also able to help someone out along the way. This ...more

Sometimes I have trouble getting into YA fiction. I feel like it can often be vapid, patronizing, or just boring. This book, I am pleased to report, is a great exception to that rule. The characters are so well-developed that I found myself tensing up alongside them in some of the more suspenseful scenes. The plot is artfully developed and satisfying and the writer's style is simple and strong, which I really appreciate. The author takes what could potentially (in my opinion) be a preposterous ...more
Another enjoyable mystery from the past, with a slightly different hook, and a surprising little twist toward the end. The traveling gang has spent some time apart after their last adventure, and come back together after the 4th of July to see who contacts them through their "Spirit Radio". This time, it turns out, they're going to be visiting a famously haunted hotel back in 1911.

We get to encounter Stanley Steamers (cars, not carpet cleaners), supercilious hotel staff, the unsinkable Molly
