After almost four years, Michael Matthews has come face to face with the love of his life. To say it didn’t go quite as he envisioned is an understatement. Never in a million years would he have imagined that his best friend, Daniel, is the new man in Kate’s life.
Once their explosive evening concludes and everyone goes their separate ways, Mike takes the time to calm down

Wellllll, I started out this journey as #TeamDaniel. 110%!! No way was I going to let some lady pushing keys on a keyboard in Cali ruin my love for Daniel! But alas, something has happened since reading Catching Kate. Damn it. DAMN. IT.
I love Daniel, still. Really, I do. But I have a whole new respect for Mike. Maybe it's the sweetness we get from the beginning of the story... maybe it's the toughness that comes into play when things go south with Kate. Maybe it's the cockiness (AKA sexiness) t

Ah, I love reading a book from a male’s point of view. I always find it to be a refreshing change. I find it interesting to be able to get inside of a male’s head and read what he is thinking and feeling. That could even be a little scary.

I found that spending the evening with Michael Matthews thoughts were very enlightening. He took us through his whole life starting at the age of seven years old with all of his ups and downs with his one true love Katherine Moore. They were childhood best fri

This book is the “in-between” book that tells Mike’s POV of the things that happened before and during Breaking Kate. It goes back in time to tell us how Michael met Katie Grace and Jess, how he fell head over heels in love, and why he broke it off with Kate and left everyone in his life behind. Basically you’re getting the back story from Mike’s POV on everything leading up to the end of book one, even him meeting Daniel, Connor, and Jake. (Which gave me new love for their bro-mance) ;)

I loved Breaking Kate, and this book is a great addition to that story. This author is really great at showing how all of the puzzle pieces work together. In this novella, we get to see how Mike fared through his separation from Kate. In the first book, we only get a glimpse of Mike, but in this one, we get to hear how they ended up with the same friends and why Mike did not come back sooner. I will probably always be a team Daniel fan, but I understand why there are team Mike supporters. This a ...more

Yup, you guessed it, I'm Team Daniel still!!!

Don't get me wrong I feel for Mike, I really do. But for me he was too much of a jerk at the start. Anyway I digress... Catching Kate my review...

As I've said this is written in Mike's POV, and it covers everything; from when Mike and Katherine first got together, when Mike's dad died and they split up, th

I’m glad that Author D. Kelley wrote this novella about Mike. I knew that Mike wasn’t as bad, as everyone though after reading the first book, because of this book now everyone gets to see Mike like I did.

Mike was just young, confused and hurt, when he lashed out on Kate. Yes that is no excuse, but it is the truth. He was in so much pain after losing his dad, that he was not thinking straight about anything. After losing his da

You must read Breaking Kate before this to get the whole story.

After Breaking Kate, I was definitely #TeamDaniel and I was sure that no matter what my fellow Southern Californian wrote on her little keyboard, I would not be influenced and change my mind...boy, little did I know this woman would weave her web and confuse the hell out of me.

Catching Kate is a novella told from Mike's POV and I really enjoyed getting the story from the beginning, from a different angle than what we got with Kate.

This book goes along with Breaking Kate and you should read that first. It gives us the story in Michael’s point of view and what his hopes are from the outcome of the end of Breaking Kate. If you were on team Daniel at the end of Breaking Kate you might actually be on team Michael at the end of this book. I am still actually on the fence. This book was an amazing story, of loss, love, friendship and passion. Th

Will first love be forever love...?

Kate & Jess' happily ever after is rocked by the sudden appearance of Mike at Jake and April's engagement party. Your heart literally stops when Mike and Kate make eye contact for the first time in four years. As a reader I could feel that split second when their past, and bad decision making on Mike's part, comes crashing down around them. At the same time your heart is breaking for Daniel. The novella is from Mikes POV and takes you back to where Mike, Kate,

I was anxious to get my hands on this after reading Breaking Kate. This is Michael or Mike's side of the story....

From the first installment of this series, I was #TeamDaniel 127% but was curious as to what happened to Mike. I still believe what he did was completely selfish. However, I love that we get a glimpse of the better side of him. The story follows from his childhood when he, Kate & Jess are all small children through the shocking conclusion of book one.

My heart goes out to Michael's woes but I'm still #TeamDaniel.

Catching Kate is a very essential part of the series. I love how D. Kelly put up the missing pieces of Mike and Kate's past and I must admit, I almost swayed on the other side of the fence.

Full of heart-wrenching scenes. This book is so hard to read because every thing that happened before the clusterfuck are so beautiful, almost perfect. D. Kelly has a way with drama that she made sure that he

Catching Kate is book 1.5 in The Acceptance Series. I'm not sure what I can say about this book except it's probably my favorite in the series. Catching Kate is a novella told from Mike's point of view. Where it differs from some other novellas and alternate pov books is that this book is not a rehash of previously read material. It is all NEW storyline material.
Catching Kate is technically book two in the series and it should be read after Breaking Kate. This book is the main artery of the ent

This tells Michael's side of the story which we read in 'Breaking Kate'. I was quite pleasantly surprised that it did give us a genuinely different perspective. The moving backwards and forwards through time worked well at keeping the plot fresh. Although I now like him more, I still don't think we know why he did what he did. And I am still rooting for Daniel to win her hand!

I do hope Ms Kelly is busy writing the next bo

This is the second book in the series and it should be read in order. I was afraid to read this book since its written in Michaels POV. I really wanted to hate him, but I wasn't sure if I would feel the same way after reading it. Oh boy, after reading it, I understand and I actually do feel for him. I can't say whose team I'm on now, I loved Daniel, but Michael definitely has a piece of my heart. This book really got to me, the emotions in it are so stron

This is Michael's story and it's quite emotional.... especially the beginning. I love duel POV stories and even though this one is separate I was glad to read it. I was 100% Team Daniel after book one, but this one has me down to about 90%. I still want her to choose Daniel, but I think once things calm down she could possibly end up choosing Michael.
It's really hard to believe that this is one of D. Kelly's first books! Her writing is so compelling and her characters are so well-developed that

Even though this was a novella, it was packed full of emotions!! Even though Catching Kate picked up right after Breaking Kate it doesn't exactly pick up there. I honestly wasn't sure what expect when I started this. I mean I hated Mike in the beginning of this book. Daniel was it for me.

After the night that Mike's past and present came and smacked right into each other he was beyond confused and devastated. For the past 4yrs Mike has been running. He alw

This is an excellent 0.5 book and gives insight into Mike and his road to self destruction and the path back. I like him more now than i did at the end of Breaking Kate (not that I really disliked him). Written in Mike's POV we follow his journey from when he first meets Kate and Jess all the way through to their meeting again.

This is a novella, book 1.5 in the Acceptance series by D. Kelly. I advise you to read book one before reading this review and before reading Chasing Kate.
In book one, Breaking Kate, Katherine Grace Moore is struggling with the breakup from her almost fiance, Michael. The way and the reason that the relationship was broken off is one that made me hate this guy.
Katherine becomes Kate, and finally finds a man, three years later, who can make her happy. This guy, Daniel, just happens to be Micha

Catching Kate by D Kelly is the book that is to be read between the first book Breaking Kate and the third book Releasing Kate, this book is called Catching Kate. This book tells the story of what happens according to Michael's point of view, after he leaves his Mother and the little girl he grew up with and loves more than he loves himself.

Michael left a ruined and shattered young man with nowhere to go and nothing planned out. All he knows is that the little girl he loved since he was 7 years

I adore when an author can make me hate a character in the first book of a series, then give me the second book and it totally makes me re-evaluate my feelings about that character. In Breaking Kate, we see how Michael crushed Kate when his father died. Without giving her a chance to find out what happened or even explain her feelings he walked out on her. Once she had a chance at happiness again, they have an unexpected encounter. The book ended with Kate needing to decide which man was going t ...more

Another great read by D. Kelly! Catching Kate is completely from Mike’s perspective. It begins with his first meeting between him, Kate, and Jess. This was a sweet story of friendship, first love, betrayal, and trying to find redemption.

I thought I was leaning toward Team Daniel, but now I’m not so sure. I got to see the other side of Mike which was sweet and loving. I loved seeing how his relationship developed between him and “his girls,” Kate and Jess. His heart always belonged to Kate, but

During the first book I felt the young Katherine and Micheal were really in love – that this was either going to be a HEA or there would be a tragic twist, and the Ms. Kelly didn’t disappoint. Ms Kelly had quickly drawn me into her characters and I really felt for Katherine and I wanted to punch Micheal in the head! And after finishing Catching Kate, I STILL DO!!! I'm definitely on #TeamD

by D. Kelly

I thought this was a lovely read and was nice to see Mikes side of things. Before reading this I was torn between Mike and Daniel but after reading this I am all for Daniel. I do not see how one man can think he has rights when he walked away after treating her so bad decides he has the right to come back and tear her world apart. How he can feel no one but he has the right to have her. So sorry for you loss but you lose in my book. It is time for him t
