3.5 stars. ARC Review

One of the best things about this series so far is the over-arching mystery of who killed Cass Cavanaugh. It is brilliant to use long-lost journal entries to advance this storyline. It captures the reader’s attention and keeps the tension high. By the end of the story, I am begging for just one more clue!

Broken features the story of the second Cavanaugh brother, James. He is immediately taken with his brother’s executive assistant, city-girl Sheridan. However, James has seri

James Cavanaugh throws himself into work to avoid his true feelings until Sheridan shakes the very foundations of his well-built walls but is his heart too broken to be healed…

***I was given this book in exchange for an honest review as part of the Goodreads First Reads program*** Ms. Wright was a new author for me and being that I’m usually more into Urban Fantasy than cowboys I was a bit surprised how much I enjoyed it. This is the second book in the Cavanaugh Brothers series and I recommend reading them in order. Each of the Cavanaugh boys has their own way of dealing with the murder of their sister and the aftermath of never knowing what happened. James works wit ...more

Not as good as book 1 but still enjoyed most of it. The mystery of Cass Cavanagh is still causing turmoil . This time our hero is James who has blamed himself all these years for his baby sister's death. He's avoided love for a while. Sheridan is one person he could not keep his walls up against. Lots of push pull.. Actually a tad too much. But I still needed to know what would happen. One thing is for sure. This author pens amazing alphas with the best dialogue and banter.

I love it when a series builds on a beginning and just seems to get better with the sequel. I loved the situation that brought the Cavanaugh brothers back together after the death of their father, their determination to find out what really happened when their young sister was killed, and explore the personal pain that each brother experiences from which only the right woman can help him heal. In this instance, its James' turn.

The story opens right where the first book left off- and yes, that me

Quick & Dirty: While not much happens in terms of the overarching mystery, this is still a fun follow up to book one, full of engaging characters and a wonderful romance.

Opening Sentence: I saw Sweet again today.

The Review:

Ever since her father left her mother, Sheridan has sworn that she will never let a man be in a position to do that to her. That means no serious relationships, and definitely no marriage. Ever since arriving at the Triple C Ranch and me

There are just some books that make a girl want to sigh.. and Laura Wright's, Broken is right there at the top of the list. Broken is the second book in her Cavanaugh Brothers Series and it's just as wonderful as Branded (book 1).

When I discovered Branded I was pleasantly surprised, I found gold amongst the glitter but Broken proves it wasn't just a one shot wonder. I know Ms. Wright has written several books and has a huge follow

First off, I'm loving the The Cavanaugh Brothers books. So far, the ultimate story line is getting better. This is a series you are not going to want to start in the middle or anywhere else, but the beginning. Here's why: The main story line is the brothers trying to figure out who killed their little sister. With each book more is reveal. So, I'm advising not to start anywhere but with the first book Branded.

Okay, now that I got that out of the way I can go into my th

Broken by Laura Wright is the 2nd book in her The Cavanaugh Brothers series. The first book in this series, Branded was a wonderful story, with a bit of mystery and a fabulous couple. I didn’t think Laura Wright could match Deacon and Mac, but I am happy to say I didn’t need to worry. Broken is just as good, with another fabulous couple.

James Cavanaugh is our hero, and the second brother, who is another hottie. James is a horse whisperer, and at the end of the first book, he decided to stay long

This series has me hooked. I cannot wait to find out what really happened to Cass!!! These are not stand alone books. They literally take place just days after the previous one and there is a huge story Arc started in the first book that is on going through the series. Each of the Cavanaugh brother’s gets a HEA with their woman at the end of their book but we are still left hanging about the dead sister and what really happened to her. Through the books we are given pages from her diary that giv ...more
I really enjoyed this one.

I think I enjoyed it more than the first one, as James didn't have a personality switch immediately upon deciding he wanted Sheridan. And his reasons for being the way he was? Totally legit, slightly irrational when it came down to it, but I don't know anyone who in the same situation wouldn't feel the same way. (view spoiler)

Broken is the second book in the Cavanaugh Brother's Series. James Cavanaugh, known as the Horse Whisperer and Sheridan O'Neil, Deacon Cavanaughs personal assistant.

I'm loving this new series by Laura Wright. It's fresh has enough drama to keep you reading and romance. But the romance isn't in your face romance and it takes time for the two of them to get together, but when they do? WOW.

The title seems fitting as they are both broken in some way. James is dealing with being back on the family r

I love this series so much and can't say enough great things about it. Not only has Laura Wright delivered a sexy cowboy romance, but the series also contains the chilling murder mystery of the sister of the Cavanaugh brothers. We get more insights into the murder in this second installment in the series and I can

This series just keeps getting better and better.. I love these Cavanaugh brothers and I liked James a lot better than I did Deacon.

James has been hurt several times in his past, but he has placed the blame of all of his loses on his shoulders and blames himself for losing everyone that he gets close to. So to avoid everything and tackle his demons, he throws himself into his works and his love for horses.

Sheridan loves her job and plans on returning home as soon as Deacon and Mac’s wedding is

This is a very emotional story.:')

This is James Cavanaugh's story...The horsewhisperer who is broken inside. He thinks he will destroy every woman in his life.Poor man! I would love to comfort him.;) He is also a dirty talker.Grin.Laura knows how to write sexy hot scenes.I love all the brothers but Cole has a special place in my heart! The sexy, dangerous, hot and charming fighter/cowboy.Did I mention the tattoos? That is right...He has a lot of tats...I find it a big turn-on.And the black eyes...

OUT STAND ING !!! FIVE +++ Stars!!
I have to say, I am RUNNING to read the first book in this series, Branded, simply because the puzzle of the death of their sister Cass begins then and the mystery of her death overlaps into all the books. Clearly, we won't truly know what happened to Cass until we finish with the nest story. Not having read Branded did not really take anything away from this book as a whole.
This is my first experience with Laura Wright and I can already tell you that she clear

Nope. I even skipped ahead after the lack luster beginning to see if it got better. It didn't. Not a fan of the writing style and super not a fan of the way the main characters interact.
This is my second attempt at this book. Guess it's just not a good fit for me.

Great book

I love this Series. Great story line that makes you want to go out and buy all the books at once so you don't have to wait to see what happens.
I picked this super hot romance because sometimes you need a cowboy in your life. and just like me, this one whispered his way into your heart. I am gonna eat this series up.

Loved it! But that ending it killed me!
After a shared rough upbringing, second Cavanaugh brother James found contentment, fame and fortune as a renowned horse whisperer. With the family secrets exposed and the drastic measure of part of the farm being turned into a mustang refuge, James has no desire to leave Black Rock. Not to mention he'd like to introduce a certain woman to her inner cowgirl.

Prim and proper, Sheridan O'Neil followed her work as Deacon Cavanaugh's assistant to the small town to open an office and found herself s

LOVED this one. Had some really tense moments. Need to read 3 & 4. I have suspicions on the murderer and need to find out the rest.

The story with The Horse Whisperer and the City Girl Intern was at a decent pace, more suspense and some new info. I'm going to kick myself if I guessed the wrong murderer(s).

This one I enjoyed and devoured faster than book 1. But the story was less drawn out and there were some surprise twists that had me going "oh shit!" As this book was on audio and I was in
