Our littlest guy really liked this one, but of course, he likes any book about animals.

This is a wonderful wonderful book. I love the juxtpostion of animal photographs and illustrated Grover. I love Grover's fuzzy little finger-ends on the edges of the book he got out of the library. I love the simple explanatory text. I only don't love two things--the stereotypical SHHHH'ing librarian, and Grover's suggestion that we start over when we get to the end. ('Cuz I'm a slave to Grover's suggestion, and where will that EVER end, hmmmmm?)

Grover from Sesame Street has a devotion/obsession to what's cute and cuddly that can be seen as inspiring or inspiring one to puke, depending on your point of view. And he proves it once more by showing his kid audience, the fan base of toddlers who have given Grover so much support over the years, some of his favorite cute baby animals in a nice little library book the library staff is all too happy to lend the blue furry. ....grrrrr, Muppet! There are actual photos of sweet little creatures in here, which is a first for a book set in the Sesame Street Universe, photos combined with paint drawings of Grover and other characters. The last page has Grovey proudly showing us his favorite baby cute animal: himself, naturally, with his naked blue furry butt showing off, though this is natural for a Muppet. But Grovey baby, did you have to be so self serving even after all these years?

Grover still got the cuteness factor down pat!

Grover goes to the library to check out a book. Then our book changes from the Sesame Street characters to a photograph book of animals. This is the book Grover checked out. We learn what baby animals are called and properties about them.

I like how this book was presented. It's not the greatest book ever, but it is interesting enough to give it a fair grade.

Babies love this book of baby animals. I like reading it because it has grovers fingers on the sides and you can try to hold the book as Grover holds it.

My favorite part was when Grover shows a picture of himself as a baby.

I love the old 70s/80s Sesame Street books with the speech bubbles and all the fourth wall breaking. They're some of my favorite children's picture books. This book is done in the same vein, but it's missing a bit of the magic found in some of the others. The focus is a little too much on the book Grover's reading, and Grover gets a bit left out as a result. Still, the beginning and end both provide some fun Muppet moments, and the main bull of the book provides some great simple information and photos of baby animals for kids to enjoy. Even as the least impressive of its kind, this book is still an innovative and imaginative way to combine a beloved character with an educational and engaging reading experience.

This is another book I got for my grandchildren from the local library used book store.

This has nice photo illustrations showing adult animals and their offspring. Both the animal and its "cute baby" are named: sheep with lamb, duck with duckling, etc. It's a nice book done in a typical Sesame Street educational format. My grandbabies will enjoy this one.
