What a fantastic book! I wish this book had been around when my children were preparing for baptism. It starts with a young boy asking his sister, "Why do I need to be baptized?" She gives an explanation and he summarizes it, then asks, "What else?" They spend the day together, doing different activities and talking about baptism. I love the concept. At the end, there's a two page spread where the author emphasizes each of the nine points again with scriptures and hymns or songs from the Childre ...more

I read my children I Want To Be Baptized at the breakfast table. As a read aloud it is a bit long, with each paragraph ending “and what else?,” so about 3/4 of the way through I stopped. All of my children urged me to keep going, then one took over reading it aloud, which shows me it is a good book! They enjoyed that the author compares those things included in baptism, like covenants, to examples in the every day world. Our oldest commented that “it teaches everything you need to know to be bap ...more

Need help explaining baptism to your children? Look no further. This book highlights the importance of being baptized. It helps the child understand the steps they need to take before, and the steps they need to take after baptism, to keep the Holy Ghost with them.
I honestly wish I had this book a couple of years ago when my niece asked me to give a talk at her own baptism. Now that I have this book, it will definitely be available for the rest of my family when the time comes for them to be ba

4.5 stars. So glad this author/illustrator pair teamed up for another book. Just as good if not better than The Holy Ghost is Like a Blanket.

This book explains to children in simple terms why baptism is important.

While I like the overall points made as to why baptism is important and why we should be baptized, but I felt the explanations were a little long. In the back of the book there are references for each reason. I wish these had been included at the bottom of each page to give the explanations more weight.

A children's book that explains the reasons for baptism in the LDS faith, along with helpful analogies that makes an abstract concept more understandable for little people.

In the back of the book, there's even a teaching section for parents: There are mini-pictures of the prior pages with scriptures to go with each one. What we usually do is read a page and then read/explain the scriptures that go with that page - and so their heads don't e'splode, we only do a few pages a night. I bought it fo
