I am a software engineer and author living and working on the road -- I've been traveling full time while working remotely since October 2022. I studied computer science at Stanford University, but I’ve always loved stories in all their forms. I approach writing fiction the same way I approach writing code: I like to know where it’s going, but I want to figure out the details as I go along. Good software is a lot like a good story, full of neat and clever solutions to tricky problems, beautiful at a granular level but also from a distance.

Originally from Seattle, I love getting outdoors to escape to the mountains on the weekends. I care deeply about the ecosystems that humans impact and that impact us. My writing explores these issues while also following classic coming-of-age arcs in science fiction and fantasy.

Book 3 in the Deadly Ever After series, I found this book good but not as good as the first two books, its was still full of twists and turns, but I just felt it lacked the energy from the first two books and seem to lead up to things and then disappoint.

We follow Cinna with her plan to try and start a war, but soon she gets what she wants but it doesn't last long as it seems Johann and Ingrid plans to stop her take effect and soon Cinna is just where the want her, so she needs to reveal herself to Hans, but she has a plan which Hans seems to go along with, even though he isn't happy, when all the rulers meet it seems Cinna plan works but then they are attacked and Cinna is once again a pawn piece to be controlled, but Cinna doesn't do being controlled so once again comes up with a plan, this time containing Johann as a some what equal to take down the "enemies"

With how this book end it felt very lacking and even makes me wonder is there going to be a fourth book or is this it?. As I said it just seems to lack a solid ending and seems to be more polities and talks as such compared to the adventure, mystery and suspense from the first books. I still enjoyed it though to see what would be the outcome for Cinna and see where it lead. Just wish it had that spark from the first 2.

This is the third and final book in the Deadly Ever After series.

Following the death of the prior king and Cinna’s ascension to the throne, Johann, Cinna, and Ingrid find themselves on three different sides of an international conflict. Cinna is as power-hungry as ever, and not afraid to go to war over it. Johann hates Cinna more with each passing day and is using Saelland as a proxy to take her down. And Ingrid is not the eccentric chemist she seemed to be, taking a starring role as a worthy adversary. Will their old alliances remain? Will new ones form?

I particularly liked seeing Johann and Cinna interact more, since they have such great chemistry—one of the best scenes of the book is a heated confrontation between them. I also enjoyed watching Cinna confront her place on the world stage, her ambitions colliding with the fact that Scanmark is a rather small player.

Overall, I greatly enjoyed it. The beginning lays the groundwork for the conflict and sees it through some of the action, but the pace and excitement really pick up as you read through the halfway mark.

The first half was a little boring. The face-off between Cinna and Johann was awesome. The ending was a little anti-climatic

I was thrilled to begin my journey in this book, I absolutely adored the past two books in this series and couldn't wait to finish the story.
I think I had really high hopes for this one and also expected it to be similar to the past two books. I feel the author took a different approach with the story and involved so much politics and different government explanations, I found it hard to keep everything straight and got a little bored in those points.
Once we got through that, the story picked up and I did enjoy the second half of the book just like I had the first two books.
The characters were just as feisty and the author fit a lot of drama in the last half of the book. I think the ending we got wrapped up the series quite well and overall I really enjoyed it.

I'm so excited to share this one with all of you!

Get ready for more of Cinna's brutality, Johann's desperation, Ingrid's cleverness. Who will get a happy ending? Who will end up in control?

As always with this series, there are some trigger warnings worth keeping in mind. There's on-page violence and death. The main character is not a good person. You've been warned.
