Greg Pak is an award-winning Korean American comic book writer and filmmaker currently writing "Lawful" for BOOM and "Sam Wilson: Captain America" (with Evan Narcisse) for Marvel. Pak wrote the "Princess Who Saved Herself" children's book and the “Code Monkey Save World” graphic novel based on the songs of Jonathan Coulton and co-wrote (with Fred Van Lente) the acclaimed “Make Comics Like the Pros” how-to book. Pak's other work includes "Planet Hulk," "Darth Vader," "Mech Cadet Yu," "Ronin Island," "Action Comics," and "Magneto Testament."

I am starting to think there is a double standard here , why is superman so mad about the killing of these otter lookalike creatures that are killed for energy and he is not mad about the millions of livestock that humans kill daily in order to eat?
You wanna tell me that if it is discovered that you can kill rabbits this way and make a ball of energy of the cleanest kind we wouldn't do it?
I fucking guarantee you we would breed the darned things and make factories to suck the life out of them

Superman se siente incómodo al enterarse por Ukur de que su batalla a cientos de metros bajo tierra ha abierto el sello de la Subterránea Imperial, liberando una amenaza como ninguna otra que los monstruos subterráneos de Ukur, ni los de la Tierra, hayan visto en mucho tiempo. Sin embargo, cuando Superman y Lana Lang ven esta supuesta amenaza, ninguno se siente particularmente amenazado. Las criaturas que tienen delante son adorables, y les cuesta mucho no reírse.

Lana decide investigar el globo de luz que ilumina la caverna subterránea y recibe ayuda de Baka , el monstruo con quien Superman entabló amistad. Juntos determinan que el orbe luminoso solo emite luz y calor, y poco más. Al verlo, a Lana se le corta la respiración. Podría ser energía limpia . Podría salvar el planeta, pero según las leyes de la termodinámica, no debería existir.
