"It's not you."

There are only so many times a girl can hear those words before she believes that it is, in fact, very much her. Unexpectedly jilted by her locally famous boyfriend and haunted by a boss who makes Attila the Hun look like a lap dog, Bellamy Blake does what any self-respecting girl in her shoes would do. She rounds up her two best girlfriends and makes plans

At not quite halfway, I'm done. I kind of like Bellamy and her determination to overcome setbacks and deal with the blows dealt her, in whatever form they take. What I'm not so much a fan of is her giving Shane the time of day after he pulls the same stupid jump-back twice. In a row! And just rolling with the "hey baby, let's get nekkid" without even bothering to explore what his deal is was my final straw.

Shane could easily have been my jamthe tough-guy paying for past mistakes doing his best

I am sick at the moment. Down with the flu. So it seemed a really good idea to read cute and fluffy. At least I thought so.
I am more suceptable to mushy feelings when I am ill and I found myself unable to concentrate. A light romance seems just the way to go. So theoretically this was a win win situation.
In fact, I swear Sweet might have gotten a star less, if I read without the flu.
So one would think Turn up the Heat was well set to get a minium of three stars right?
Well, sadly. No.

0.0% "Arc from net galley, excited to read this one :)"

2.0% "Slow down there, Encyclopedia Dramatica. What are you talking about?" She laughed. "And by the way, hello is usually customary for the whole phone-greeting thing. Just so you know.
On the first page, and already it looks like I'm going to love Bellamy! She seems funny, kinda reminds me of Tara Sivec's charactes. But I'm still only on the
This one was very average and forgettable. I didn't connect with the characters and just a one-week romance and in love didn't ring true.

4 Stars!

This book had me at 1969 Mustang Mach 1. I admit it I am a Mustang lover. I bought my first Mustang almost 10 years ago during what my husband fondly refers to as my midlife crisis years (although I seriously hope that was not the middle of my life....I am nowhere near halfway done yet). Then a very sad

I am so glad I was given the opportunity to read Turn Up the Heat by Kimberly Kincaid. It is a well written novel that harmonizes the beauty of small town living with the dynamic of the city lifestyle. An imaginative plot and interesting characters create this refreshing contemporary romance.

The story begins with gusto when Bellamy Blake, a real estate analyst from Philadelphia, experiences one of the worst weeks in her life. To begin with, she confirms via Google search that her very public

After being jilted by her self-absorbed boyfriend, the last thing that Bellamy Blake wants during her winter weekend getaway is to get involved with another man. Fate, however, has other plans when Bellamy's car breaks down and the only mechanic for miles is sexy yet surly Shane Griffin who isn't interested in a relationship with a polished city girl. Can these two lost souls get past their preconceived notions and find happiness together?

I loved this book, I loved the romance and I really loved Shane, Bellamy?" Shane's grin wiped the confidence from her face. He put a hand on the door frame, leaning in. "I might be just spit-balling here, but I don't think the problem's in your trunk." Good lord Shane has some damn funny reactions to Bellamy "Shane opened his mouth, but his vocal cords were noncompliant. Had she seriously driven here in the middle of a snowstorm to pick a fight with him over her car?" I just loved them together, ...more

I loved Shane and Bellamy!!!

Their romance grew at a wonderful pace and kept you hooked from the very beginning. Shane kept things from Bellamy from the beginning, but only because he looked at their
time together as something that wouldn't last longer than getting her car fixed and he honestly didn't think that she would understand.

Needless to say, they fall for each other pretty hard AND THEN everything goes all to crap!

This was a great start to a new series and I can't wait to read Jackson's

While at work one day Bellamy Blake gets a phone call from her best girlfriend. Seems her boyfriend Derek is on TV telling the world about his new job out in San Diego.Seems he is moving across the country without telling her first.
This calls for road trip with her besties Holly and Jenna to drown her sorrow. On the way to the resort to meet the girls Bellamy's car breaks down and she is rescued by the local

If you love to read Jill Shalvis, then you are going to love Kimberly Kincaid. Especially if you like small town romances. This is the first full length book in the Pine Mountain series and it's fantastic. I can't wait to get my hands on the next two novels in the series.

I absolutely love this book, Shane Griffin and Bellamy Blake are two of my new favourite characters. Though some of the secondary characters in Jackson, Holly, Jenna and Grady are fighting for that spot.

This book sucked me in

A Dash of Sweet + A Pinch of Sexy + A Heap of Emotion = TURN UP THE HEAT by Kimberly Kincaid.

Kimberly Kincaid writes a romance which not only captures the heart, but has to grab onto all the strings as well. We can all relate to the heroine, Bellamy, who can come off to strangers (and our hero), as a tad snooty, but deep down has a big heart and is stuck in a job she hates (where we have ALL been), but with the help of two fabulous friends, might just be changing a few things about her life

This book has it all: smoking' hot hero, relatable and savvy heroine, humor, sexiness galore and dialogue that leaves with a serious case of "why didn't I think to say that?" syndrome. If you are looking for fun, sexy romance that will make you wish it never ended . . . read this book!

I was utterly excited to read this most exciting romantic adventure by my newest most fabulous author around, Kimberly Kincaid. With the first book, Pine Mountain. I so thoroughly adored such the sweetest story of complete between these two gorgeous characters.

Turn Up the Heat will immediately have you falling in love with Bellamy Blake and Shane Griffin. Bellamy is having one of the worst weeks of her life. Getting stranded in Pine Mountain just adds insult to injury. Having sexy mechanic Shane could be a silver lining, if he wasnt such a jerk with calling her a city girl and being all out rude to her.

I loved watching Bellamy and Shanes honesty or almost honesty with each other. They challenged each
This was a great romance that had a lot of aspects I look for in a good book. Funny and witty banter, check. Hot and sexy hero, check. Smart and sassy heroine, check. Hilarious besties you wish were real, check. Hot love scenes to burn up the pages, check check. ;) This is only my second book by Kimberly Kincaid, and I am seeing that this is a travesty. I should have been reading more form her a long time ago! She definitely has a way with words. The story flowed nicely and there was even a ...more

This is the first book in the Pine Mountain Series, and it was a great book, with romance, humor, best friends, and love. Shane, lives in Pine Mountain, and he is an auto mechanic, a hot Mr. Goodwrench with broad shoulders, who loves his job, but has some real issues with city life. Bellamy is a city girl, whose boyfriend, is a arrogant jerk, and she hates her job, and not only because of her overbearing boss. Goodbye Aaron, hello Shane! Not only does she have the best heroes, but the female characters aren't any slouches either!

Whew! This fabulous author definitely turned up the heat! I have read every single one of her novels (so far), so I knew from the beginning that this story would probably have more steam than I usually like to read, but I also knew that I absolutely had to read it.

I need to mention that if you don't care for steamy scenes in your novels, or a little language, you probably

TURN UP THE HEAT by Kimberly Kincaid introduced me to another place I would love to live Pine Mountain Resort! Spunky, beautiful, talented cook/baker extraordinaire, Bellamy Blake and educated, loyal, handsome, top notch mechanic Shane Griffin are now new friends of mine! Following Bellamy and Shane through their meeting one another and the development of their funny, hot, sigh-with-envy relationship, made me laugh, get worried, become tearful and whoop for joy by the end of the book. Kimberly Kincaid served up a delightful start to her new Pine Mountain series. Bellamy Blake is having a bad week. A really bad week. She gets dumped by her boyfriend. Her boss is clearly one of Satans minions and determined to make Bellamys life a living hell. Even her temporary escape from her life backfires when her car breaks down outside of Pine Mountain. Enter Shane Griffin, mechanic who takes her on another roller coaster ride through her life. I laughed a lot; I drooled over the food ...more

You just can't go wrong with hot men, great food, and a great story. This book had it all. It also gave us glimpses of characters who will soon be starring in their own Pine Mountain books. I love Kimberly Kincaid's style of writing. I felt like Bellamy and her friends could have just as easily been me and my friends when we were in our 20s, although none of us knew how to cook as well as Bellamy! I just wish I could have found a mechanic as hot as Shane when I was in my 20s! I loved everything ...more

WOW! This is the first book in the Pine Mountain series and I already want to put book two on pre-order! The characters are well developed and the pace is fast. Girlfriends, towns and great pals make the secondary characters come to life! More than just a typical love story this is a story of families and how we often make life decisions based on what we believe they will think of us rather than talking with them. This is spicy and funny too! Enjoy! NetGalley and Kensington Books

Wow, what an amazing Personality the main character has! She had me laughing out loud throughout the whole novel. Adding to that Shane and their chemistry and flirtation, and that made this novel one that I flew through.

Its not very often that I like the female character just as much as the male character, but I connected with both of the characters from the get-go.

Amazingly Sweet and Sassy novel. Perfect for a light-hearted quick read!
