James Laird and Lola Caraway have been best friends since childhood. After an incident in their hometown that caused the two to face their growing attraction to one another, James and Lola have decided that “just friends” is best.

Ever the ladies’ man, James has become a star in the world of porn. Lola, on the other hand, is attending a prestigious university and well on her way to a very bright future—one that doesn’t involve on-camera sex scenes and anonymous hook-ups.

Now James goes to visit Lola in college, and he must deal with the fact that their lives might be headed in two different directions. He doesn’t want to stifle her, but he just can’t live without her. Can he accept the fact that his “cupcake” is all grown up, or will it be too hard to let her go?

Here's the thing, I have read this wonderful series by Bianca Giovanni before she got a book deal, so I know what happens later on. This one takes place inbetween Exposed and Diving In (I think). Still knowing what I know I can't help but become frustrated. Why can't they see they are are in love?!?!? WHY?? I love James! I love Lola! They just need their heads knocked together. If that were even possible I would be the first one to do the knocking. I know that there has to be tension, and that tension is what makes for a good story. However in the words of a great Valentine's Day sign I saw stating "Valentine's Day blah blah blah, drink" I say "James & Lola, blah blah blah, love each other already!!!" So until the next book comes out I will be reading something else just to fill the time and pouting. There will be a lot of pouting.

This novella is a great little hold over for fans like me who are intrigued with James and Lola. The title had me worried, because I don’t want these two to let go of each other, but at the same time, this is what makes Ms. Bianca’s books feel so real. Life doesn’t operate in one straight line and neither do relationships.
James visits Lola on campus and basically it’s take-a-porn-star-to-school-day for Lola and believe me when I say, James is never boring! As usual with the VV&V series, the dialog is witty and real, the events entertaining and some pretty emotional. I love how James has to give Lola a chance to grow and become her own person. It was touching to see him be so proud of her and yet so saddened by his fear of her moving on in her life. Super quick read. (Read it between 2 coffee breaks and a lunch.) Ready for more!!

James and Lola….I didn’t think I could fall even more in love with them. I’ve read the whole series thus far and it has been a great ride. This latest installment feels like an episode of Behind the Music with J & L. The first books didn’t go in depth with what happened with them between the years (which was one of the things I loved about the originals), but Letting Go gives you just enough to keep you going until the next James and Lola adventure. Thanks Ms. B for giving us two unforgettable characters!

This in-between story just got me excited to start reading of the most unlikely pair of BFF's.

In here, James is more vulnerable because he bares his feelings and fears of the future. The lines are a little blurred because he tries not to be an ass to Lola's guy friends, specially to the one who has his eye on her. I laughed out loud in a lot of scenes, specially when James makes Lola blush with all the sex talk.

I still wonder where all this more than friendly love would lead.

James may be a porn star and constantly surrounded by willing women, but he treats Lola like royalty. Their friendship is one of a kind. I enjoy seeing James' vulnerable side around Lola. As for Lola, she is incredibly supportive and nurturing, never judging James. I hope they can live near each other again. I'm addicted to this series.

So, so sweet! Shy, innocent virgin and her porn star best friend. It should be strange, but it's sooo heartwarmingly swoon-worthy ... I don't even have words!
