Hey there guys, my name is Colton Jennings, but most people just call me Colt. After reading Sadie's story myself, I wanted to straighten a few things out. I know everything she told you was how she felt through everything, but it certainly wasn't how I did. I thought I came across as a jerk, like I didn't care enough through the whole ordeal to appreciate what I had while I had it. That was not the case for one second. I was just lost within myself, trying to figure out what I needed from what I wanted and I made the wrong choices. You won't understand a thing I'm saying if you haven't read Finding Solace first. But if you have, this is how I saw it.
I have a mad passion for books. It could be considered an addiction by some. After the responsibilities of work and being a mother are fulfilled each day, I escape in a book. I hope you all will enjoy what I can bring you. I have plenty more ideas to go from here.
Great follow up to Finding Solace . This gives Colt's perspective on his feelings and a deeper understanding of what he was going through. It helps with the love hate scenario we have with Colt. If you have issues with Colt this is a must read
First I was so happy to find this at the end of my Digital version of Finding Solace. I thought I was going to have to wait for shipping! Well, I sobbed at the end (while at work) and I am glad I read Colt's side. He really pissed me off in Finding Solace. I feel like I kind of understand his dumb actions now. It does not excuse them. I'm glad has learned from his mistakes and hope he will have his Happily Ever After.
Colton's story is eye opening and sad in some ways. To read about the love between him and Sadie and to realize they could have had a together forever if they'd just said how they really felt. I am very happy with the way things turned out for Colt, now you'll have to read this to find out! Out of the park Barbara Speak, can't wait for another book from you.
I'm like everybody on this one. I still don't know what to think. I loved that I got to hear Colt's POV, but I can't help but wonder "what if". I know they moved on but I'm still left wanting more. Him and Sadie were so much more that I kind of hate seeing them with other people. So overwhelmed with emotion. Awesome job
I fell in love with Colt all over again with this book and getting to hear his side of the story. It's good to know that eventually everyone deserves their HEA! I cannot wait for the next book!
This shortish novella brings you Colt's side of Finding Solace and getting to understand where he was coming from a little bit. Told in first person narrative, Colt gives you his POV and chats aside to you all the way through.
Now I have to say not a major amount new goes on in this at all, it rehashes events from the start to the finish of Finding Solace with a small amount of new story at the end. This does give a little more insight into him but not a great deal, as it was clearly pointed out during some events in Finding Solace where his mindset was at. I suppose this picks certain events and gives us more closure on what he was thinking at the time then.
Truth be told I don't think I've ever read a book where it's rehashed quite like this or chatted to the reader as much as this is. In all honesty I didn't feel it was massively Colt narrating, it was ominously close to how Sadie narrated her story too, thus the 'voice' of the characters seemed very similar.
It was good to get this addition to the story, but it's too close to Finding Solace to not make this more punchy and feel more new to the reader. Or to have been introduced to some new scenes, I don't know. This is good, it just didn't feel 'different' enough for me to warrant it to be great.
This book answers the question? Well what happened ti him after he left? Colton was damaged and confused when he was with Sadie. Damaged because he felt he lost years before he got married. Confused because he shouldn't decide if Sadie would be enough or if he could be the person that would be enough for her. Confusing right? So what happens to him when Sadie tells him that she made her decision? Well he is forced to grow up! Does he find love eventually,. Affliction is his side of the story. He doesn't sugar coat it so don't think you are going to read a book where he doesn't admit that he messed up. he does and he shows us how much it hurt him when he realizes to late what he lost. Enjoy!!!
Of course, once again, this is my own book. I can't give an honest review. In Finding Solace you get the story from Sadie. Her thoughts, her feelings. In Affiction its Colts turn to explain. What you think you knew will be shaken. How you think you felt for him will be replaced. Everyone deserves some kind of happy ending right.
This is a definate must read following Finding Solace!
