I got this book not realizing it was part of a series. I had previously read one of the books in this series and immediately recognized the character Mr. Humbly. I can’t wait to read the remaining book

I enjoyed seeing how these characters got over their tensions and discovered that they were compatible after all. Because they are married this is slightly more risque then the average Zebra regency, but would still fall into most people's clean category.

This was a fun conclusion to the series. I liked Victoria and Claredon, they had good chemistry together. They had an unusual start. Lord Claredon stumbles into the wrong room at an Inn and attempts to seduce the wrong woman, Victoria. He does the honorable thing and marrys her. Needless to say when the story picks up (five months after the wedding) they are not getting along. I actually liked the beginning when he was constantly provoking Victoria. It’s a quick read and once Vicar Humble appears they start to realize they don’t want to spend the rest of their lives bickering. I liked Lord Claredon, even if he was a former rake. He had a lot of good qualities and I liked that he was committed to Victoria. It seemed like they may have more chemistry than the couples in the other books, maybe since they had such a rough start. There is also a bit of a mystery that added a fun element to the story. The Vicar Humbly who is in all three books, was as charming as ever. I liked the ending when he is reunited with all three happy couples. Overall, a really cute series.

Content: Clean, PG-Subtle. Any intamacies were behind closed doors.

Book One: A Proper Marriage
Book Two: A Convenient Marriage

After 40 years of devoted service, Vicar Humbly is eager to retire to his pleasant cottage and tend to his garden. But before he can live in peace, he must salve his conscience by travelling to the homes of three couples whose marriages have troubled him. Though he is a man of the cloth, Vicar Humbly knows that desire sometimes needs a little help from unexpected places...and that he may have to be less the Vicar, and more Cupid's emissary...

This is the third and final installment in the Marriage trilogy, and really fits right in with the other two novels in the series. Like "A Proper Marriage" & "A Convenient Marriage," "A Scandalous Marriage" is a thoughtful novel that focuses on an unhappy marriage, but, thanks largely to the authour's light touch, the book is not heavy going at all.
