I really liked this book. It was a well written, suspenseful, mind teaser with interesting protagonists and plot twists that held my interest. As steeped in modern cyber-crime and advanced technology as it was, it still managed to layer a little paranormal into the fiber optics of the story line.

Well done, Ms. Week. Well done.

When I first began reading Nancy Weeks' IN THE SHADOW OF GREED, I was immediately engaged by her main character, Dr. Sarah Tu. Attentive to the point of being obsessed with her top-secret work on a cybercrime, Sarah is so engrossed in her work, she misses the time to meet her ever-patient and forgiving sister, Hanna, to go on a vacation. That lapse allows a serial killer, who has been stalking Hanna, the opportunity to torture and kill Hanna. When Sarah arrives at blood bath, her world is crushe ...more

What a wild ride! IN THE SHADOW OF GREED is a smart, sexy and intriguing romantic suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat to the very end.

The heroine, Dr. Sarah Tu, is a gifted cryptologist (think numbers) who spends her days studying coded language, cracking secret codes and protecting information. While frantically working to block a national security threat, her sister, Hannah, is brutally mauled by a serial killer. Sarah's world crashes all around her as a beaten Hannah is in a coma.

This book has my favorite kind of storyline in it due to being a computer geek and former information systems technician in the Navy, where I worked for a few years in the Network Security field. Now I am pursuing a degree in the field currently. =)
The minute I read the synopsis of the book I knew I had to read it.
This book not only brings you romantic suspense but a look into what the most significant threat is to today's world cybercrime. People tend to f

Really enjoyed this book. Nancy Weeks succeeds in keeping the suspense high and the tension tight as mathematician Dr. Sarah Tu seeks to use all her skills to identify and stop a dangerous new Internet bot that would compromise national security.

While Sarah is working, someone attacks her beautiful younger sister, Hanna, leaving her seriously injured and in a deep coma. As Sarah feels responsible for Hanna, guilt renders her unable to respond to the attraction that flares between her and handsom

What a superb plot. And an extraordinaire heroine in a field I haven't read yet, computers and math--I think my kids former science/math teacher would be geeking out right now. With a splash of the supernatural. All combinations for a great romantic suspense techno thriller.

Dr. Sarah Tu and Detective/Agent Jason McNeil have been targeted by a ruthless thug. And they have no idea why. On the run, they try to piece together the mystery while trying to keep themselves alive. Along the way the get a

IN THE SHADOW OF GREED, the debut romantic suspense novel by author Nancy C. Weeks, is an edge-of-your-seat cyber thriller neatly intertwined with a sizzling hot romance between the hero and heroine of the story. There’s even a dash of sixth sense communication thrown into the mix, which ends up playing quiet an important role in the lives of the characters, even if its occurrence is never really fully explained or contemplated. Ms. Weeks had produced an exciting, face-paced read that will have ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed reading In the Shadow of Greed. The story kept me hooked from the first chapter, awaking emotions - in particular excitement, fear, followed by an the overwhelming love expressed from one sister to the other. Suspense kept me turning pages while the underlying romance between the heroine and the detective kept me intrigued with the thrills and uncertainties of new love. I felt so close to the characters that the end made me curious about the rest. I highly recommend In the S ...more

Nancy's debut novel is a well-written suspense that embodies family relationships, sorrow, fear and love. Dr. Sarah Tu is a strong and smart heroine and her relationship with her sister Hannah is compelling and heart warming. Sarah's love interest, Jason, is a tortured hero who doesn't want to fall in love, but can't help it.

The cyber crime story line, along with a serial killer on the loose, make for some very tense moments in this book that will keep the reader guessing what will happen next.

The author did something here I haven’t come across before in a series. There are two books, In the Shadow of Greed (which was releases first) and In the Shadow of Evil. The two books intertwine so closely in certain aspects that the answer to a more descriptive who, what and why of a serial killer that starts out in Greed is explained in Evil.

The timeline of Greed is March 2013 to roughly the end of November. Greed starts out with the brutal attack of a woman. This woman is Sarah Tu’s sister.

In the Shadow of Greed was one of those rare books that swept me up from the get-go. Weeks wove an absolutely fantastic tale of greed, intrigue and really steamy love. Dr. Sarah is so awkward and inside of her own head that you cannot help but love her. Jason is the perfect antidote to her buttoned up nature, with his oh-so-hot cop mentality. Of course, the rest of McNeils and the strong bond Jason has with his family make you love him just that much more.

4.5 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed Nancy C. Weeks's debut novel, IN THE SHADOW OF GREED, because it has an original plot involving a unique heroine, Sarah Tu, an Asian-American woman scientist, mathematician, and computer guru, who works for a cyber-security company called NORAN. Although the plot falls squarely into the romantic suspense genre, it has a tantalizing paranormal element as well, because of psychic messages sent to Sarah and the hero, FBI agent Jason McNeil, via Sarah's sister, Hanna. ...more

Too much guilt!

The premise was good. The scientific theories, even though I don't really understand them, sounded feasible. The romance thriller tinged with some paranormal aspect was kinda interesting too. But the h was just too much for me. I can't relate and I can't feel for her. She carries too much guilt, almost selfishly, and I can't get past her issues which were not explained at all. They were just there. And she had several TSTL moments. The H was okay although he had lack of control is

A story with a feel good ending.

This story drew me in so that it was hard to put down and I would read much longer than I planned. The only problem I had was that the editor needed more proofreaders. The misspellings were very disrupting. Other than that, I enjoyed reading this book.

After reading In The Shadow of Evil, I was eager to read In the Shadow of Greed as such when the opportunity came for me to read and review it I never hesitated. On completion the only thing I could say was WOW! What a ride. This book was worth every moment of reading. It’s very difficult for me to say of the two which was my favorite, as they were both good in their own way.

Sarah Tu is not the normal romance heroine. A brilliant computer analyst of Chinese ancestry, she is obsessive about her top secret work stopping deadly computer viruses. Her sister tries to get her to act more like a normal person, but Sara always lets her down. When her sister is murdered, Sara meets police officer Jason McNeil who comes to love Sarah. But Sarah is afraid to commit to him. Only after she is threatened does she turn to him and together they battle to stop the most corrupt virus ...more

Dr. Sarah Tu and Jason McNeil are thrown together after her sister’s attack, which has left her in a coma. And while Jason has better luck communicating with the comatose Hanna, he’s fallen hard for Sarah. I love the chemistry between the heroine and hero; it fairly sizzles off the page, as do the love scenes. And I loved the psychic element to the tale. It's something I've not encountered in contemporary romance. I enjoyed, too, watching Sarah become less in control and less ordered than she st ...more

Nancy C Weeks' 'In the Shadow of Greed' is a romantic suspense story which intriguingly blends a strong scientific side with a quirky hint of the paranormal. Dr Sarah Tu is a brilliant, believable heroine who lives entirely in her head and believes nothing she can't measure, and the hero, Jason, is equally tough and rational... until he starts hearing voices in his head, and discovers he's formed a psychic link with Sarah's injured sister Hannah. There's plenty of excitement, lots of twists and ...more

Wow! This is a fantastic read from beginning to end. Well thought out, well plotted, pacy and thrilling. I don’t read a lot of suspense but absolutely loved this book and could see it made into a movie. Nancy Weeks has managed to build a growing relationship with the heroine Sarah Tu and Jason McNeill, making them characters you can sympathise with and understand. I would definitely recommend reading this book .

Great beginning..and liked the sibling relationships.
For me there was too much action and not enough character development.. and some typos that desperately need to be corrected.
This reader also missed WHY the bad guy went to such elaborate measures to scare Dr. Sarah prior to the kidnapping.

Drama, suspense, romance. NO erotica in this just a good romantic suspense read. I didn't figure out who was behind helping Singer until revealed, to me thats a good read. Took a star off for typos that usually doesn't bother me but there for awhile it was crazy. .5 a star off because I still like a hot sex scene and this book doesnt deliver that. Still 3.5 star review

I read this as a whole collection. Five books, Greed, Evil, Malice, Pride, Vengeance. All 5 were good. A little language, some steamy scenes but the stories were good. It was fun to have all the characters carry through.

The suspense was definitely interesting, the romance was strained for me. There was supposed to be some insta-love connection, but they were hardly ever around each other. I liked the story line though!

Everything I look for a great fun read! Best Romantic Suspense novel - Ms Weeks' In the Shadow of Greed can go toe to toe with Nora Roberts / J. D. Robb and Elizabeth Lowell, in my opinion.
