The TROLL series by thrilling smut author Emma Clark
Before going into this, I must admit that I found this book off of a negative review on YouTube, and was not the most open minded, but in the end, I don’t think it mattered. This book has nothing going for it. Usually I hate saying that, because even in books I absolutely hate, I can still see why they can be appealing to some. But no, not this book. A terrible story with enough plot holes to give M.Night movies a run for their money, a pacing that makes absolutely no sense, a ridiculous twist that isn’t even funny in a bad way, it just sucks, and no “character development” until the end of the book(and yes, I’m calling it a book, because despite the author’s claim of it being a trilogy, it’s about as thin as a McDonalds worker’s yearly salary). Even calling it a book is generous, because it would be much more at home on Wattpad. (but not the good side of it). The only plus I can really give this book is that its grammar was OK. I mean, it wasn’t good, but it was better than most Wattpad fan fictions, so that’s a start. Avoid this book like the plague, because it will threaten your life just as much.
I've read all four books and so far I really like this mini series. Unfortunatelly I'm going to have to wait for the fifth book a bit longer. This is not a happy light read, it's has a darker nature, since the h get's kidnapped and has a light case of stockholm syndrome (at least in my opinion). As for the H, he's really OTT, stalkerish and obsessive over h. I can't wait to see how their story ends. :)
I was given this bundle by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is a short story about Kyla. What would you do with a stalker? Would you be afraid? This tells a terrifying story of just that, but it isn't all scary. The sex scenes were hot and exciting. Can't wait to read the next installment as well as other works from this author.
This series starts with a great potential for readers like me that love dark erotica. I just find that this story is way too short and leaves me wanting more out of the characters. This author should not be afraid to dive in to her dark mind. If people that read it and call her sick and twisted, then in my opinion, it's a compliment.
The main character, Kyla is stalked and dominated by Justin whom she met through an online dating site. The book becomes interesting when he enters and takes over her life, plenty of erotica.
I was one of the fortunate few to receive a copy through GoodReads FirstReads and the author.
Accidentally wrote this review under book 3, so just copy and pasting.
This was a super short read. I really liked the authors prior book boy next door and didn’t realize she had other books. Justin is certifiably insane and psycho. But in an insane way I want him and the H to make it. She only rejects him when she is feeling self conscious regarding her body. I did want to make a statement about the h being 125 lb and 5 ft being considered overweight lol. I’m a shorty myself at 5 feet and at 21 I was 125 lbs but mostly due to muscle as I was also a size 2 at that weight lol so just felt the need to say hey! Wait a minute! Lol
I loved this book. It was insane but I couldn’t put it down. The author really has a way to draw you into her insane circumstances and certifiable psychotic H. Like her H definitely have some type of psychosis they don’t realize what they are doing is wrong .
I typically don’t like novellas but didn’t mind this bc it didn’t read like a quick smutty read. It felt like a real story. I didn’t love the twist with TROLL. That twist seemed to have come out of no where and I have no idea why the judge would need her to keep cancelled checks.
This writer is very talented. I don’t think she writes anymore, but the thing I love is how she was writing dark books before it was so popular. I love reading dark books from this period bc they are so engaging and the plot seems so compelling vs some of the newer books out. I do wonder why the writer no longer publishes, bc she really is talented in writing compelling stories that cross all types of boundaries and somehow makes you root for the H that honestly have no redeeming qualities.
I read this book after reading another book, that was good but is soooo wordy. Like it’s a storyline I’m interested in and would like to finish the story but just not sure if I have the mental willpower to finish the second book. This book was a nice quick read that still left me wanting more
You know I really have to admire the author of this book cuz like she puts in these realistic little details, like the main character having to go pee before sex, that really enhances the fantasy of a guy perusing you relentlessly.
Also the ending was great, I wish it happened at the beginning.
I am so disappointed I don't know where to begin. In theory the storyline was good, however it failed to produce. It just didn't seem to flow; I would look up from my page and look back to continue the next paragraph and thought I'd skipped pages. Then the characters actions were completely unrealistic, not even 24 hours after breaking into her apartment they are acting as if they've been together months. Please don't discount Emma Clark based on this book... I have read other books from this author and was completely content.
Wonderful and intriguing read. Development was good and storyline progressed very well. Characters were freakishly awesome. Loved the steamy wet you panties romance. One to book Four.
