Following the postponing of his departure, Mohan Babu seeks the help of Byomkesh and Ajit in solving Reva Sarkar's murder case. Suspecting Sunil, Reva's husband and alcohol addict, Mohan Babu asks Byomkesh Bakshi to help him collect evidence.Unable to conclude anything from Mohan Babu's story, Byomkesh decides to nab the culprit in Sunil Sarkar with the help of deceit. He asks Mohan Babu to bring him a copy of Reva's handwriting, a tape recorder and asks Sunil Sarkar to visit him.
Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay (Bengali: শরদিন্দু বন্দোপাধ্যায়; 30 March 1899 – 22 September 1970) was a well-known literary figure of Bengal. He was also actively involved with Bengali cinema as well as Bollywood. His most famous creation is the fictional detective Byomkesh Bakshi. He wrote different forms of prose: novels, short stories, plays and screenplays. However, his forte was short stories and novels. He wrote historical fiction like Kaler Mandira, GourMollar (initially named as Mouri Nodir Teere), Tumi Sandhyar Megh, Tungabhadrar Teere (all novels), Chuya-Chandan, Maru O Sangha (later made into a Hindi film named Trishangni) and stories of the unnatural with the recurring character Baroda. Besides, he wrote many songs and poems.

অদৃশ্য ত্রিকোণ বটে। কথায় বলে, নিয়তির লিখন, না যায় খন্ডন। তুমি যতই এড়াতে নিয়তিকে এড়াতে চাওনা কেন,তা পারবে না। কোনো না কোনোভাবে তা ফলবেই। সুনীল বাবু অনেক চেষ্টা করেছিলেন। মোটামুটি সফলও হলেন,তবে শেষ রক্ষা আর হলো না। এখন অবধি এটাই প্রথম কোনো কেস পেলান, যেখানে ব্যোমকেশ প্রমাণের জন্য অপরাধী ধরতে পারলো না।
