Cassandra Pierce has been a fan of Gothic literature for most of her life, even studying the origins of the genre in college and graduate school. Before long, she got the urge to create paranormal romances of her own and is now hard at work on several new projects. When she is not writing, she teaches English at a small New England college and is active in a charity that rescues and rehomes abandoned pets.

I opened this book up on my computer and read the first 10 pages or so and then got called away. It took me almost a month to go back to so I started over. This time I got about 20 pages in and got called away. Normally when that happens I run back to my book as quickly as possible. But as the third time has come and gone and I still have not managed to get excited about coming back to finish this relatively short story, I have decided to give it up and call it dnf. I won't rate it cause I don't think I got far enough to form that kind of opinion. I guess all I can say was that it wasn't engaging enough to keep me coming back.
