Peace rules in Camelot, and Britt is satisfied with her life as the stand in for King Arthur. Or she was, until Lancelot shows up. Britt is forced by Merlin to welcome the young knight into her courts, and life goes downhill from there. King Leodegrance ,a close ally who also happens to have the Round Table, which Britt dearly wants, is attacked by the foul Duke Maleagent. Unwilling to abandon her ally and let the Round Table slip through her fingers, Britt rides with a party of knights to Leodegrance's lands in hopes of providing help.

Unfortunately the Round Table proves to be less than impressive, King Leodegrance is not the man Britt thought him to be, and, worst of all, Guinevere has set her romantic ambitions on Britt's King Arthur persona. Leodegrance needs a champion to fight Maleagant or he will be ruined, but does Britt really need to do battle on behalf of a greedy man and his daughter whom Britt knows will bring ruin to Arthur and Camelot?

Lancelot is a vain annoyance I’m annoyed by plus highly suspicious of his true motives. That one’s a clever snake I do not trust. 👀 And Guinevere is so ANNOYING. (I MUCH prefer her in BBC’s Merlin) If we will have to see more of these two in the next books I hope they won’t be long scenes because they already drive me nuts…though Britt was nice to help Guinevere.

And while the romance isn’t a HUGE part I really like the slow, close bond forming between Britt and Merlin. It’s super sweet and cute. ☺️ I also like Britt and Sir Kay’s growing relationship too.

My favorite parts were definitely the extra deleted scenes at the end (I don’t know if they’re available with the single book or just in the omnibus) which were super funny, especially the magic gone wrong and Kay chasing Lancelot ones. If you know you know. 😂

Interested to see how things keep going!

This story continues the fun hi-jinks of Britt Arthurs, a twenty-something American girl who finds herself in the past masquerading as a boy and crowned King Arthur. In this book, the stakes are increased as both Lancelot and Guinevere come on the scene.

I wasn't as much of a fan. But I love how Britt hates both Lancelot and Guinevere. She even told Guinevere to her face she was stupid and worthless.

But I wonder what is going to happen now after that ending. I don't trust some of the people and I feel like they are going to be out for Britt's blood.

I guess the adventure must go one.

**Review of the series as a whole rather than the individual books.**

KM Shea lets you know right up front what her stories will be. They will be some type of fantasy (usually), end happily and neatly tied up and are meant as a break from life rather than to be deep thinking. This series delivered exactly what was promised.

This is more of a series of novellas except for the last book that is full length. It's a fun story reimagining the King Arthur Legend. In it, a young woman named Britt is brought from modern day back in time after she touches the legendary sword. It seems the actual King Arthur has run away and Merlin places a spell on the sword to bring someone back that has all the needed attributes to fill the role. What he doesn't even consider is to specify the gender in his spell.

The 7 book series details adventures as Britt poses as King Arthur. She goes about finding her round table and the knights that will belong. KM Shea plays with the mythology and has a bit of fun with it. I enjoyed the stories and Britt as well as other characters' evolutions. Sure it could be far fetched at times but I always give fantasy book a lot of leeway. If you need tight plotting and things to make perfect sense then maybe look elsewhere. This series is not meant to stand up to that kind of seriousness. It's simply escapist, fun reading with a story around a strong female character. There is the faintest whiff of romance that doesn't really even manifest until the end and then only trace amounts.

Britt Arthurs was sent back in time and tasked with uniting Britain by pretending to be the legendary King Arthur. She's accepted that she can't go back home and is determined to make Camelot the best it can be. Which means steering clear of Guinevere and Lancelot, since modern day legend lays the fall of Camelot on them. So naturally in this installment Britt is forced to accept both of them in her Court.

These are quick, light reads. Everything is on the surface and there's very little depth to the stories or characters. That's working for my current reading mood. I like the Girl Power aspect of the stories. Though there are problematic elements, so far I've been able to overlook them enough to be entertained.

Love the twist on Lancelot and Guinevere in this one! Merlin and Kay always make me laugh, such great dialogue there. In this book we learn about the round table and what it actually is. Lancelot doesn't stop annoying Britt, and there are two fight scenes that Britt nails perfectly. Can't get enough of this story and enjoying the brief chemistry between Britt and Merlin.

This is a great continuation of the series. I'm absolutely loving these books. They are funny, exciting and so easy to read when you're looking for something light.

This time King Arthur (aka Britt Arthurs) is off to help one of her allies by scouting out an evil duke who is laying siege to his castle. That's the official reason however what she's really doing is looking for the round table from the legends. When she gets there she finds her supposed ally is not the good man she thought him to be but can she refuse to help him?

I absolutely love Britt and Merlin as characters but mostly I love the relationship between them. They bicker and fight constantly as Merlin tries to control her and she completely ignores him and does her own thing.

There is a lot more Lancelot in this one and he is definitely proving himself to be a bit of a dubious character despite his endless prattle. Britt can't tolerate him so seeing her try to contain her frustration makes me laugh.

We also get to meet Guinevere, who proves herself to be silly, superficial and a bit of an idiot. Needless to say she develops a crush on Britt despite Britt being unable to stand her.

I loved this story and really like the authors writing style. My only complaint is that there are still quite a few typos, missing words etc which interrupts the flow. I'd still recommend.

Just as I expected, this series never fails to suck me in. This book was finished within an hour. I love Britt and her knights so much. This time, Britt has to deal with two people she hates just based on Authurian lore: Lancelot and Guinevere. Britt also grows a bit realizing that compromises must be made.
I like that the romance is going slowly because I dont want it to become the focus and take over the plot. The growing feelings between Britt and Merlin is awfully cute. I love how much they grow as friends before starting any sort of love relatonship.
As for the new characters, Lancelot is not exactly what I expected him to be. He will most likely be in the plot more in the next book. Even Guinevere ended up to be tolerable. My only complaint is that these books are too short! I want more Britt! more Merlin and the knights! *sigh now ill have to reread all the previous books while i wait for book #4.

This was a bit bizarre but worth it. Britt wants the Round Table that she heard of so much in the legends, so she tries to broker a deal with the king who has it. However, he will only give it to her if she will marry his daughter, Guinevere. Due to Britt's predicament of being a girl herself, she cannot really accept this so she breaks into the castle to see the table herself, but then finds herself trapped when the castle is under siege by a mutual enemy. She also stumbles upon Guinevere. Britt absolutely despises the legend of Guinevere and Lancelot, so while she is very determined not to like her, she also feels bad for her that she tries to get her out of another politically advantageous marriage her father tries to set up. However, this means that Guinevere falls in love with Britt, not realizing she is a girl.

Fairly certain Lancelot was in this one? The introduction of Lancelot was also very funny because at first she is absolutely obsessed with the dude. The moment she realizes it's Lancelot, she is utterly disgusted with him but cannot get rid of him because she is one of her closest allies son.

i'm afraid the more i read this, the lower my IQ goes down and the more fluent i am in cursing stupid characters.

first page in the book and i was ready to sell Britt to slavery. she was so whinny and annoyed, a true picture of spoiled wench. she kept on moaning about the round table and won't accept anything except this particular one. SO FUCKING USELESS! i almost dnf -.-

also, let me reconfirm something. she was supposed to be a king right? why everyone told her what to do and run around saving everyone? did she know that she can ask one of her so-called loyal knights to help her fight her battle?

it was also very unfair that she antagonized Lancelot and Guinevere so much just because she hated them. there was this funny scene when Britt scolded Guinevere about her stupidity when she was acting exactly the same way. maybe that was why she hated Guinevere because she saw her twin in Guinevere. and why for once, she was not willing to save her anyway? just matched her up with Lancelot and voila, problem solved. but oh NO i forgot, she was also stupid🙄

Liking this series more and more the further I go. Damn though if Britt ends up with smarmy Lancelot- goodness knows enemies to lovers is a popular trope- I’d much rather pair her with Merlin no matter how much the thought is still disturbing to me. It’s not as if it’s boy to dirty old man like my brain wants to ewwww over. It’s just hard to remind myself of this being a gender swap for Arthur and a major reduction in age for Merlin.

With Britt reluctantly championing on Guinevere’s behalf it will be interesting to see where the next book will lead us… is Lancelot on the up-and-up? Despite giving his pledge to Britt and the fact that he and his cousins are sons of Camelot’s main Allie’s I wonder just what he has up his sleeve.

BRING FORTH THE NEXT INSTALLMENT!

Once more Britt is going on a adventure to help a neighbor king. She will have to act the part and then some.

This one is my favorite so far, you get everything in it. I have to say that King Pellinore is quite funny and I am always happy to see his attic. There is only two things bothering me, first one : it's way to short lol, I want more. The second one, is how Britt fails to see that the Lancelot/Guinevere can'T really hurt her, since she is neither friend with Lancelot or a man in love with Guinevere, but she still insists they are cheating unfaithful people. Britt acts as if Arthur was someone else she didn't have control over, but only when those two are concerned.

I loved this whole series! I got the first book free somehow, and was totally hooked. To be clear, when I saw the title and heard the synopsis I totally eye rolled. Really -King Arthur is a girl and time transported?!! But then I read it and I LOVE the series. The twists from the original story were great- a sexy Merlin? It took some getting used to, but now #yesplease. And sometimes when life is hard or I’m dealing with conflict, I think “what would Brit Arthurs do?” I highly recommend the whole series.

“I will fight until I cannot stand and talk until I run out of air, but I will see that every maiden I come across has someone willing to fight for her, and that every lesser subject knows that if all else fails, there is someone good in this world who would like to see them not only survive, but be happy!
I will do everything I can. If I cannot reach all of Britain so be it- but right now, there is a castle that cries out for a champion, and I will not forsake them.”

My enjoyment of this series only grows ♥️

This books was an improvement on the first two books in the series. We start to get a bit more development in Britt's relationship with Merlin, and Kai.

Still, it was hard to read about her disdain for Lancelet and Guinevere. Certainly, understandable that she would feel that way, but I thought/ hoped Britt would be smart enough to find a way to use the legends to her advantage. I kept expecting her to foist Guinevere off on Lancelot, or pretending to marry Guinevere as a way to hide her secret that she was a woman.

Once again, I was left wanting something more than I got.

King ‘Arthur’ Meets her nemesis

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Britt meets Lancelot and doesn’t know it, liking him before realizing who he is. Going to help Guinevere’s father when he again is threatened just angers her. Britt knows how Guinevere and Lancelot destroy Camelot and can’t stand either of the two but must bear his company while saving Guinevere from her father’s using her as a pawn.

Still as entertaining as the first two books.
I like what the author is doing with Lancelot and Guiniviere.
The characters are still acting like a bunch of teenagers ... which technically some of them are I guess. And I'm loving it.
These books just make me laugh and they make me happy right now. And that's exactly what I need right now. I can look past flaws and imperfections if a book just makes me happy.

Britt actually grows even more. Meeting two of her (and mine) most hated Characters of the Arthurian Legend she has to decide, if she wants to do the one thing she swore to herself she would never do, or be the King, she wants to be.
In conflict with her feelings she manages to be great again.

It is a brilliant way to tell this legend.
I am going reading the fourth book now.

Really good

It’s getting more and more interesting as we slowly meet the characters we know from history. I hope Arthur can find a good balance of being chivalrous and not naive, it’s a hard one, I don’t want to see her hurt. Looking forward to the next book, really enjoying this series.

I really enjoyed this one. Britt's interactions with and thoughts about Guinevere and Lancelot are too funny. Her obsession with the round table and her knights confusion over it was also funny. I like that she is settling into being king and her knights loyalty to her and her adventures are fun to read about.

Entire series review:
At first it was slow, but then I couldn’t put it down. It definitely had ups and downs, but it was a fun and clean read. Had a few slow moments where I thought I would quit mostly because I wanted to know if the love interests ended up together. The end was a very interesting twist.

Yet another adventure with Britt...
-The writing seemed a little more improved, even if there were some minor mistakes
-The character development of Britt's interaction with new characters was immensely frustrating to me, but I know things will get better and the story will improve

For honor

I love the, no one left behind, theme running throughout the reign of the lady king. Britt is noble in a manner that inspires. I can hardly wait to read the next book. A good read.

Is woven thru out this installment.
It also starts the two Britt hates from legend... Genevieve and Lancelot... their true colors already showing.

The series is starting to heat up.
