This is a very calming book even for a healthy atheist.
A beautiful memoir; a story of hope, courage, faith, and family.
I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. It is the best book I've ever read on coping with serious illness and finding a way through by building a "cathedral" and trusting in Jesus.
Henderson writes:" Thinking--the name of Jesus was all that was left to me. A fiction that story...the real power is that fiction--the narrative of a suffering, loving God-man."
He visits church when he's almost finished with radiation, " what I had left was the name of Jesus and the words' it's not about you'" ...more
