Pat Hatt can be found in the East Coast of Canada. He hates writing these things but doesn't mind talking in the third person. He dabbles in a little of this and a little of that, not afraid to attempt something new.

He is owned by two cats, one of whom has his own blog, It's Rhyme Time. Yeah a rhyming cat, who knew? He would be considered a both person when it comes to cats and dogs.

He is also quite the movie and TV buff. As you can probably tell does not take himself seriously and has more stuff in his head than is needed. Thus the novels as just one more form of release. Thanks for the visit and enjoy!

Fight in the Night is yet another exciting book written by Pat Hatt. The story follows the pirate couple Captain Pat and Truedessa. When Truedessa is snatched up by what looks like a giant hawk, the pirate captain and his trusty spotted cat set off to find her. They encounter a lion made of clouds, an evil Martian, and a mystical unicorn on their daring rescue mission through space. The adventure never ends in this thrillingly unpredictable children's tale.

The many plots twists, which would be out of place in a book of a different genre, fit in well with this magical story. the lighthearted rhyme scheme, although it lacked a bit of fluidity in some places, worked hand in hand with the colorful illustrations to create a story that kids will want to read again and again.

A perfect sequel to Fight for the Light. The story follows the adventures of Truedessa and Captain Pat, combining Martians with pirates. When the evil Martian kidnaps Truedessa, it's up to her, Captain Pat, and the spotted cat to find a way to rescue her.

I was a bit taken aback at the change of illustrator and style, but it matches the feel of the book. While Fight for the Light definitely gives a nostalgic, older kid's book sort of feeling, Fight in the Night becomes modernized with the introduction of martians and the brighter, bolder colors only serve to help with this.

The story is a great sequel, but it definitely is able to stand on its own as well. So whether your kid loved Fight for the Light or is looking for a new great book to read, I definitely recommend this book!
