Fizzy’s Lunch Lab is spin-off from the popular PBS Kids show. Nellie Nitpick, a vegetable-hating food critic, is reviewing Fizzy’s Lunch Lab. The Lunch Lab’s claim to fame is food that is not only tasty, but healthy, too. Can they create a meal that will pass Nelly’s taste test, even though it contains vegetables? Readers will pick up food and nutrition facts as well as some simple recipes. The Black Bean Burger recipe is especially appealing. This series promotes healthier lifestyle choices.

Though I have never seen the program, Fizzy's Lunch Lab is a PBS Kids show. After reading this book, I want to check out the episodes. Nelly Nitpick is tv host that reviews restaurants. Her rules are: 1. Food should be tasty, 2. No vegetables, 3. You can't fool her. The last restaurant for her to review is Fizzy's Lunch Lab. He is determined to show her that vegetables can be yummy. There are recipes included in the book (I want to try the Black Bean Burger). The only problem is that some fruits are listed as vegetables, ie: squash and peppers. A book that is trying to teach children should give correct facts. Other than that, "Nelly Nitpick" is an entertaining way to teach healthy eating.
