Book one of The Alpha Girls series introduces you to Alexis, Brittany and Caitlin who have grown up together since birth. Caitlin is ready to become a woman, but she's fourteen and has yet to experience her first French kiss or her first period. The summer before high school will change all of that. Caitlin is taken by surprise when Joshua reveals his feelings for her. As Caitlin sorts out her own feelings toward Josh the memory of the kiss she shared with Trick on the beach continues to invade her thoughts. Good thing she'll never see Trick again or things could get complicated.

I was born in California to a military family. This meant that I was the "new kid" in school every couple of years. It was hard always trying to make new friends, but I discovered I had a knack for writing. I began writing poetry in high school and really enjoyed expressing myself by using pen and paper. After becoming a Mom in 2003, I continued my storytelling to my own children. In 2009 I wrote and published my first children's book aimed at toddlers. In 2012 I am set to release several more children's books. Check out what I'm working on by visiting my children's book blog.

I also write a blog about living on a gluten-free diet. I love to cook so I share my recipe successes and failures as I continue living without gluten.

Writing is such a wonderful creative process and I look forward to sharing more of my stories with lots of new little readers!

This was such a quick and easy read. The situations presented for the three teenage girls (Alexis, Brittany and Caitlin) are incredibly realistic and relatable. I remember feeling similarly when I was transitioning from middle school to high school. The dialogue is also very realistic whether it's the three girls talking to each other or Caitlin talking to the cute boy Trick on the beach while she was on vacation with her parents and her two gal pals. It's a light-hearted take on the trials and tribulations of growing up essentially. I did notice some minor typos and other minor grammatical errors while reading, but overall, it's a great book to bring to the beach as you soak up the sun or if you rather sit poolside that'll work too. I'm curious to see what'll happen to Caitlin and her friends in the sequel especially since it seems as though she'll get caught up in a love triangle and it'll be interesting to hear what her friends think about her boy problems as well as seeing them deal with their own aside from all of them learning the ropes of high school.
