The first book in this action-packed new series by Misty Evans pulled me in quickly and the pace continued until about mid-way and then lost some of its impact. In a world of political power, underhanded dealings, and sex for a price, this story brings two strong-willed and scarred main characters together - one an ex-FBI agent and the other a champion for women who are beaten and abused and need a permanent escape.

As far as the crime and suspense goes, this story was charged with enough gusto

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. The overall story and mystery are good. I was really guessing until the very end as to who the killer was. I was confused in the beginning of the book and I felt as if I'd jumped into the middle of something and needed to catch up. Even though everything is eventually explained, I would have preferred if some of the back story and characters had been explained in the very beginning. The romance of Grey and Sydney moved pretty fa ...more

I feel like three stars is too low but four is too high... it was good. Not great. Definitely kept my interest. I would be interested in reading another in this series.

I eagerly awaited the release of this book, the first in a new series – The Justice Team - so I jumped at the chance to review an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

No worries here about being honest. I LOVED IT! I was hooked from page 1! The hero, Justice “Grey” Greystone is a disgraced, outside the lines ex-FBI agent on the hunt of a serial killer at the highest echelons of political society. The FBI kicks him out but is secretly using him to hunt the killer. Grey tracks down the source of e

This is the first book I've read by Misty Evans. I was given a ARC for an honest review.

If you like a feisty heroine that isn't afraid to cross the line to help others in danger, you will love reading the story of Syd. But she likes doing things her own way. Now, she may have found someone that is willing to watch her back, if they can find a compromise between her way and his.

Grey is an ex-FBI agent on the trail of a serial rapist who killed his victims. He needed a new partner, but what start

I really enjoyed this book. Syd, and Grey pulled me right into the story line. This book was full of suspense, a murder plot, romance, with lots of heat. Oh and cupcakes. What girl does not enjoy cupcakes? I loved the way Syd always called Grey, Fed boy. The banter between the two was entertaining and fun.

Syd worked for a woman’s shelter. She saw what the men that beat did to those lady’s that came into her shelter. She wanted to save every lady she could. Syd was also very protective of the lad

A strong 3.5 stars...This was a free read and my first by this author team. It's always hard for me to rate and review a book that I read just on my phone. Reading time is so fractured, that the story doesn't absorb me in the same way. I liked both characters. The action and romance parts were well done. I didn't feel like I was shorted in either element. I enjoyed Syd and Grey's banter very much. Grey's personal and professional choices that he made at the end were spot-on for me! The series ap ...more

I tried to like this book. I really, really did. But I can't explain it except to say that everything about it rubbed me the wrong way. Granted I only read about 35% of it, but I just couldn't get into it. Please don't let my rating deter you from reading this book. Unlike myself, you might enjoy it, perhaps even love it, like so many other readers have.

Great story lot's of action, adventure and thrills loved the ending and love Justice :-)
I enjoyed this book. Most all of the aspects of it worked for me. I already knew that I loved Giordano’s Private Protector Series and had a good idea that I would like this book even though Evans is a new to me author.
Sydney was the right amount of tough that left her likable and not bitch slappable due to stubbornness. There aren’t a lot of authors that manage to get the right amount of balance to pull this off for me. Grey was a likable character though his little obsession with guilt and his

This is one of those books that before I even finished the first chapter I was thinking, “Did I accidentally start on Page 75 and not Page 1?” So I closed out of this book, and read a few others before deciding to give it another chance. Once I finally got into the grove of the plot, I discovered an unusual and intriguing storyline revolving around an international serial killer with ties to Washington D.C. that has eluded authorities and hid behind his a diplomatic immunity. The suspense, intri ...more

Just ok for me

## JUST OK. I love romantic suspense stories. However, this one was not my favorite. Don't get me wrong, the plot was good...but it was soooo drawn out. The 260 pages felt like 460 pages. I kept putting the book down to cook, do laundry, vacuum. Usually when I'm engaged in a good book on my day off, those chores wait til I'm done reading the whole thing. The hero and heroine didn't have much romantic chemistry. More like buddies which I didn't like. Most of it was due to the heroin

First in the series

Grey was fired from the FBI but joins a security company. One case stuck with him, the murder of escorts by who he thinks is a Lebanese dignitary. Sydney helps women get away from abusive husbands and boyfriends. Grey starts following her because some of the girls that come through her shelter are being prostituted out. He convinces her to go undercover and get evidence on the killer. But she has to go as an escort. Syd is a tough woman and Grey doesn’t follow any rules. They

I like Sydney because she is so tough and feisty. Grey is tough and very protective. There were so many characters that were so easy to dislike for various reasons. A good story. Sydney is willing to put herself in front of a serial killer in order to save the lives of other women, Grey isn't so sure he wants to put her in that kind of jeopardy. The more he gets to know her, he knows that she shouldn't be part of his investigation. Sydney will not be sidelined. She is just as protective of Grey ...more

I obtained this free e-book from Amazon ad I am voluntarily writing a review. Sydney runs a battered women's shelter helping women turn their lives around and get back on their feet. Imagine her surprise when Grey an ex FBI shows up and asks for her help catching The Lion a serial killer with diplomatic immunity. Three of the women she helped get a job as an aide to a Senator have turned up dead, strangled. The only connection is a escort service that is secretly run by an attorney that generous ...more

Stealing Justice

Really liked this book. The plot and “who done it” were not hard to follow but were enjoyable. I liked both alpha characters doing their best to fight crime and protecting innocents. Even though each character had personal doubts of their abilities because of basically losing a loved one to rape crime, they, both as individuals and as a partnership, keep working for justice. I look forward to reading the next books in this series.

At first I was struggling a bit with this book because as much as I like a strong heroine, Sydney was almost too much even with the explanations as to why. Then, along with Grey the who's tougher struggle was irritating. The characters finally evened out some and I could actually get into the story instead of being annoyed. I liked the twists and turns and the ending was really good. I will be reading book 2.

Justice's sacrifice

A world where women have died working as a commodity under the guise of political parties. Under the surface the is a world where no one escapes alive. Can one man find them before too many others join the departed?
You know a book is worth the read when you put the book down for the night but it sticks with you and you just have to finish it.

Fantastic Story

Grey is a he'll of man who loves his job but was let go due to not being able to bring the bad guys down without compromising his integrity and turning on his partner. He meets a woman named Sydney who helps him complete the task of saving women from being murdered. These authors are terrific and I will continue to following. Excellent

This book just dove right into the suspense. Sydney’s personality and humor were awesome. Her and Grey together worked and worked well, really enjoyed this book. The job offer at the ending surprised me and now I can’t wait to read the next book.

Charming, scary, gorgeous female escorts, FBI and battered women all and more rolled into this story.

Syd and Grey make an interesting often daring couple often disagreeing with each other about how to proceed without getting hurt.

I found Stealing Justice a bit slow to start but it wasn't long before I found it difficult to put down. And better still, I didn't pick the killer.I gave Stealing Justice 4 and a half stars.
