Thorns of Betrayal is a very real and raw view into how guilt and pain can profoundly affect a person’s life. At the same time, we are given a beautiful example of how God’s love and forgiveness can help us to lay our fears and guilt at His feet. We are not made to handle the guilt that we place upon ourselves or the pain that we take on. Those burdens are best left at the Creator’s feet where they belong. Life is short enough as it is. Please don’t continue to fill it with things that will only ...more

When I started to read Thorns of Betrayal, I noticed it was the second book in the Spirit of Destiny series. I went online and saw that The Wishing Well Curse was the first. My curiosity was piqued enough, and I read that book before finishing Thorns. I'm glad I decided to do that. It made my enjoyment of the second in the series much better, since I had the story behind many of the returning characters, like Zeke, whose story is told in the first book. Something else I also enjoyed in this book ...more

This is exactly the type of book I like to read after finishing something heavy. It is a sequel to the Wishing Well Curse and I enjoyed both, however because I did not read the 2nd immediately after finishing the 1st, things were a little foggy at the start. The girl was a bit whiny and the guy is acting like he's in the middle of the story waiting for everyone else to catch up. At one point I had to stop and look up reviews of the Wishing Well Curse to refresh character background. You don't ha ...more

I liked this book better than the first. It was a page turner. Rose's story we can relate to. God can help us with whatever we go through. Rose thinks she can not be happy with Zeke and think if he knows everything she has done he will leave. When she gives it to God and Zeke finds out she is surprised that he does not care what she has done he loves and understands everything and helps her with an abusive uncle who killed her father and tries to kill her and her friend. What I did not like was ...more

Will Rose Bauer and Zeke Clayton be able to fulfill the destiny that brought them together? Lynn Donovan takes them on a roller coaster ride in this supernatural thriller. Just as in the prequel, The Wishing Well Curse, ghosts play a part in this story. The characters are real and the action dangerous and exciting. Belief in God shines through as their faith grows and their love blossoms among the thorns!

A moving story, when I needed to be moved...

First, God has used this book, this series as a blessing. Lynn Donovan has managed to find all the right words to ensnare multiple belief systems. not only that but she maintained the central theme, God is in charge and when we trust in him, then his plan is revealed.

This book shows how guilt and pain in a person life. God show us how beautiful the world is and how we can make it. We shouldn't let our burdens get us down. I highly recommend this book.

This is the sequel to The Wishing Well Curse. If you are curious what happened to Zeke and Rose after he asked the question, "Do you believe in destiny?" you'll want to read this one for sure.

Lynn Donovan spends her days chasing after her muses, trying to get them to settle down and behave long enough to write down their words and actions. The results are numerous novels, anthologies, and short stories.

Lynn enjoys reading and writing all kinds of fiction, paranormal, speculative, contemporary romance, and time travel. But you never know what her muses will come up with for a story, so
