Saving Alyssa (A Child To Love)***** by Loree Lough

Noah Preston owns and operates a bike repair shop in Ellicott City. He and his 8 year old daughter Alyssa have living quarters upstairs over the bike shop, which Noah is very thankful for. Since his wife Jillian Judson was murdered three years ago, Noah Preston (formally Nate Judson) along with his daughter Alyssa, (then 5 year old Melissa) entered the Witness Protection Program.

Nate Judson had been a successful lawyer but had turned state's e

Speaking of "Heartwarming," this book definitely is. What do you think of when you think about the witness protection plan? Hardened criminals being given their freedom in a new environment with a new alias? People leaving the country for a few weeks or months of paid vacation while awaiting a trial for someone they are spilling the beans on?

What about a grieving widower with a small child, petrified that, despite tight security, the corrupt senator he already testified against might strike out

Loved reading Saving Alyssa it was so interesting to read about what it's like to be in the Witness Protection Program. That you are as much a prisoner as a criminal. Noah Preston turns states evidence over and sends Senator O'Malley to jail who had killed Noah's wife and attempted kidnapping of his daughter. Once a lawyer Noah now runs a pretty successful bicycle shop in Ellicot City and that's when Billie Landon enters his and Alyssa's life.
Billie is recovering from her own tragic loss and ta

I enjoyed this book very much. The main characters were part of the Witness Security Program and had to learn to live with little contact from their family and no pictures taken. I was encouraged by the faith the characters had and built upon. The secondary characters were satisfying. The idea of finding love again after betrayal or loss is an encouragement to others. The outcome was very satisfying and I grew to love these characters. It is a great book.

Better than the average novella, this book is well-written, slightly funny, and has good character building with an okay story. I did not have to roll my eyes more than once.

Saving Alyssa is a story about the struggle of a father to fulfill every wish and dream of his darling daughter. A daughter, who, at a very young age, had had to adapt to a new identity. A little girl who had to remember not to be open about her past and who must remain in home. A life akin to living in a gilded cage.

It is a story of a woman who has lost a baby and is convincing herself that she does not need one in her life. irrespective of her convictions, though misplaced, she falls in love w

This story had an unusual background--the witness protection program made me look at it from a different point of view. That, plus the fact that it was clean and filled with good hearted people made it a good read
