Have now added this book to my Amazon wish list -it's that good. Mr. Sanders lives in my town so I keep wondering where he has traipsed in order to find the flowers he talks about seeing locally.
That said, it got a little tedious reading cover to cover. Very similar entries on each flower, but that's the point. His anecdotes about the history, literary, botanical, ethnobotanical entries on each flower are fun, interesting, engaging, and make me want to go find everything he sees. I need to have ...more

I really liked this book. I didn't get a chance to read it cover to cover but it had a lot of interesting facts and folklore concerning wildflowers. It would make a good reference book to own.

This is a wonderful resource book, and it's beautiful design almost makes it a coffee table book. I learned a lot and will be referring to it many times in the future.
