Cassie McTiernan is fine. She doesn't need advice. She doesn't need a boyfriend. She has a job, friends and a cat. She doesn't want you poking around in her business. Sure, she thought about writing once, but that was a stupid idea, according to her mother. Now she drinks a glass or bottle of wine to drown distressing thoughts. Her friends don't think she's fine. Men of the Year is a fun, and flirty romantic comedy brought to us by author Colleen McMillan. This one is a real page-turner. I can’t wait for you to get to know Cassie and the gang. They are a genuine hoot.

Men of the Year is a warm and funny book about the world of dating. I met my own husband online so I know that it works but also that there are some strange people out there!
Although set in the USA, it was easy to feel an affinity with Cassie and I could imagine this happening in the UK. Cassie is jilted by her fiance and is quite rightly devastated. She mourns the loss of their relationship for three years and her friends are determined to save her from a life of singledom. They sign her up for

Definitely an interesting premise and I was always eager to find out what would happen on the next date. It seems a little far-fetched that every date would have such obvious shortcomings, however. I felt that the supporting characters weren't built out very well, so I found it difficult to remember or connect with most of them. The ending was a little too neatly tied with a bow for my taste. But still, a fun read.
